4.0 out of 5 stars Solid Book
This is a solid book in the series. Yes it is full of typo's but I do not fault Kevin for this but ACE. I have bought many ACE books and this seems to be a thing with them. I will tell you I am not a hard sci-fi fan. I like series that start out on earth from something real and move from there and this series dose that. I would recommend reading it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Sucks, too bad. Starship was promissing.
I read Starship, the second book of this series and then right away this one. Unfortunately the 3rd is out of print. This book totally disappoints, there is nothing worth reading here. I read Starship, the second book of this series and then right away this one. Unfortunately the 3rd is out of print. This book totally disappoints, there is nothing worth reading here. Boring, confusing, irrelevant, typos everywhere and at the end one is left with a big "ok, so that was it"? The possibilities of the "gate" offers are not explored in any way. It is hard to believe the society that is described. As they find out what they invented is not a gate to other planets, but to other times and parallel dimensions of just the Earth. Also the fact that the gate leads from Mars to earth only is not explained. At the end of the book one is left with a teaser for a 5th book that might finally bring the so long sought after dream of travelling to the stars, instantly. I for one am not one bit curious. You screwed this one up, Kevin. Sorry.
