The author pulls Biblical character into a partially fictions tale with such clarity that the familiarity of the Bible comes to life.

Bibical truths + fiction = good reading,
This review is from: The Gate of Heaven (Lions of Judah Series #3) (Paperback)
This is a good series of books especially if you know the Bibical truths behind them. I like how the people in the Bible are brought to life. Gilbert Morris is a good writer.

A very good read,
This review is from: The Gate of Heaven (Lions of Judah Series #3) (Paperback)
Gilbert Morris's Lions of Judah series has been a joy to read so far. From the time of Noah to Abraham and Isaac, and now to Jacob and his sons (and daughter), the series continues to be a joy to read. Although Morris's characters in the series tend to be a little too black and white, good and evil (especially the first book), this edition offers a touch of shades of gray, with the thickheaded but caring Esau, the loutish but not cruel Laban, and the stubborn but vulnerable Dinah. Another weakness is that only the oldest four brothers, Joseph, and Dinah, of all Jacob's children, really get any time or depth given to them (Benjamin doesn't count since he's born near the end). Despite that, though, the book is a good read.
