I got this for a great price just before Christmas for $499. It wasn't worth it though and we just returned it. For starters the button on the touchpad broke within 2 days. Then my sound stopped working. Many of the programs wouldn't run correctly and would just give me an error. The only thing Gateway could tell us was to reinstall the sound drivers. I did that and it still didn't work. They didn't have any other advice to offer nor where they willing to fix it. I only used it for about 2 weeks but it was already starting to fall apart even though it never left my computer desk. Within a year I'm sure it would have been garbage.

I must say I love my computer. I bought it for $499 as well before christmas. I bought a gateway for my mom and loved it so much I got my own. My only complaint is that I blew out a speaker within a month. I figured it would because I had my itunes up full blast but I was still a bit disappointed. That is why I couldnt give a 4 star rating. If I had to do it all over again I would buy it in a heart beat. GREAT computer for the price. I purchased mine at office max on sale so if your thinking about this computer you may want to check their ad's or buy it in store where they will remove all the junk programs for free.

The pc was bought for my daughter and she was thrilled.I keep buying gateway and have good luck with them. I am not so computer savey and haven't been able to get the printer to work with it, but it is a problem on my end I'm sure. very happy with this product.

Where do I start? I researched laptops for months before purchasing this one. For the price, you can't beat this one. Loads of memory, 2 processors so very quick response, very good quality for watching videos online, even a disc drive to watch dvds and download software. And the screen quality is amazing- my husband is jealous. Only complaint is the short battery life, but, that is typical. LOVE THE BUBBLE GUM PINK!! My computer doesn't get mistaken for others :)

We bought a Gateway desktop and Windows got hosed for some reason. We called 1-800-GATEWAY for support. Guess what? If you buy a Gateway anywhere but their website you must call a separate toll number. WTF!? Then we needed to restore it but the restore partition was bad. Had to get the recovery disk. They charged me $20 for a $1 CD-R. Then it wouldn't work, and they wanted to charge me to tell me how to use it. Again WTF? These people are horrible. Save yourself a lot of trouble and get a Mac. Get HP. Get an abacus. Anything but Gateway.
