Kitchens, bedrooms, offices, or dormitories will be equally well served by the set, which features a built-in carrying handle for easy transport. An included table stand simplifies desk- or table-top positioning.
LCDs are more power-efficient than either CRTs or plasma screens. While they may not be as bright, overall, as plasmas, they get more wallet-friendly every month. You'll see none of the irritating scan lines or flickering that's visible on CRT sets or monitors, and you can forget about both ghosting and image burn-in, no matter how many hours a week you spend parked in front of your favorite video game.
This Gateway television is no slouch in the specs department, offering an impressive 600:1 contrast ratio, high (423 cd/m2) brightness, and a wide, 170-degree viewing angle. Stereo speakers with 2.7 watts per channel offer strong, clear sound, and you can always plug a pair of headphones into the set's headphone jack for more private (or just louder) listening.
What's in the Box
TV, table stand, remote control, remote battery, RF coaxial video cable, stereo analog audio/composite-video interconnect, power adapter, AC power cord, TV antenna, user's manual, and warranty/registration information.

Very nice new technology. I have only used it as a video monitor so far. Biggest complaint is NO color level adjustment on video!! and the level seems to be too high. Adjusting brightness & contrast somewhat changes the color levels but at the expense of over compensation. Sound is poor.

Gateway 17 inch Widescreen LCD TV/ Monitor,
By A Customer
This review is from: Gateway 17" Widescreen LCD Flat-Panel TV (Electronics)
The unit is really nice, well constructed and performs very well. The only problem is when viewing the TV mode, it is true, you cannot correct/lower/adjust the color saturation. You can do this when on the computer (PC mode) and are watching TV through the PIP mode. The sound is good, the connections are good, the clearity is fine, and there is little "poor response" due to the fast processing of information. There is a nice remote, instructions and easy to use buttons on the front of the panel. The built in swivel base adjusts both side to side and up and down. There is S-Video connections, Composite, DVI inputs as well as PC connection. This is an HD READY system and accepts all other types of inputs such as DVD, VCR, Camcorder. This product is limited in availability presently but for the money and overall quality, this is a winner.

Great unit,
This review is from: Gateway 17" Widescreen LCD Flat-Panel TV (Electronics)
This is a great little unit. I have been using it on my desk for the last year, and it works flawlessly. The only issues are the delay when switching between inputs and sometime the PIP stays on when it is supposed to be off. I have also hooked up my xbox and computer to it, and it is a great system. The swivel base and carry handle are two great features. I would rate it an economic buy, and not a top of the line unit, based on the color settings and the image.
