5.0 out of 5 stars I'm not surprised October 29, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I came here to write a review and saw that the only reviews already here had given this book five stars.
Why am I not surprised?
I've read a few of Scott Nicholson's stories and I love the way he writes, but to have a collection of
them that kept me moving from page to page with hardly a pause in between, has been
a true delight.
I'm in the Halloween spirit after reading these stories dealing with death in every form you can imagine.
I have to say my favorite is "Sung Li", the story of a doll that sits in a cabinet of curios, and this has
nothing to do with the fact that my late husband was Asian:)
His short, short, "One Sick Puppy", explains his writings and increases my desire to wish I could meet
him in person.
Add to this the bonus of "The Cutting Room" by Shane Jiraiya Cummings and "Black" by Tim Lebon
and you'll have some enjoyable reading if you enjoy this genre.
You certainly can't beat the low cost of Scott's books. Give them a try; you won't regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow!!! October 24, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Scott never ceases to amaze me!! I love his books and his creative imagination! This is a collection of 10 stories that will give you that little shiver up your spine... Each story gets you right from the beginning and sucks you right in!! The stories are short and I found myself so hooked I couldn't put them down. I kept reading just one more. Just one more. Next thing I knew I was done! I have become a huge fan of Scott's writing and look forward to reading more of his work!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another assemblage of the creepy and disturbing January 18, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
No need to go into how much I like Scott Nicholson's writing so I'll go to the highlights:

In the Family--
Dark story about not wanting to let something go

The Cutting Room--
This is just one of those make your skin crawl stories about the supernatural. One of the longest in the book and probably one of the best. Have to keep my eye out for Shane Jiraiya Cummings' other works.

Sung Li--
Possessed china doll? Or a kid making up a story? Creepy. Nuff said.

The Devil's Doormen--
The most twisted in the bunch. It's so twisted some of it is almost funny...only it isn't because it's too disturbing

I liked the other stories as well, except for Black which I found to be meandering and rather pointless quite frankly...but it's still worth the price of admission to read the other ones in this collection!
