Nice computer. Awesome screen for a netbook, and the Core2 processor puts this in a different class than underpowered Atom based systems.

The only complaint I have is related to the viewing angle on the screen, which is a little small. Its hard to find a perfect position that doesn't washout a little bit of the screen. All these 11.6 inch screen netbooks use a similar panel though (for now,) so buying another brand or model wouldn't change this.

Really happy with my decision. Solid little computer that looks great. Get it!

I bought this for my wife as replacement for a Dell 1405 and she loves it.

Advantages:
easy to carry around, lightweight
excellent screen resolution, you can actually do real work on it
Decent processor, my wife watches online movies sometimes and they play without problems.
Nice form and appearance

Disadvantages: somewhat strange key texture ad spacing but it is minor (why it gets 4 not 5 stars)
Windows vista, which runs well; I wish Apple would sell something similar for 700 and I'll buy-I am still waiting for free windows 7 upgrade.

I have only had it for a few weeks; but if you are looking for a good laptop mini and do not want top processor power, this is a very good one to buy

Before I ordered the Gateway EC1805U, I made few studies with online reviews, and after a use of 3-4 weeks, I have to agree with most of comments that I read online. This EC1805U is low heat and a quiet notebook, weight just above 3 oz, which is almost as light as a netbook but with a bigger screen, 11.6in. Good hard drive size with 250GB and a 2GB of DDR on board memory that can be upgraded to 4GB. Cost including shipping was $377, which is the same as a upgraded netbook with same feature, but certain a smaller screen. Netbook with Atom N450 is running at 1.6Ghz and EC1805U has a 1.4Ghz Intel Core 2 CPU (it's not a dual CPU), and I don't know which is actually more fast, but EC1805U is fast enough for me. Even though MY EC1805U only has a upto 5 hrs of battery use on each full charge (less than most of netbook, which is around 7-9hrs), but I am glad I have a bigger keyboard for my typing; however, I found that red control key symbals are hard to read.

This is just what I needed for travel. It's not a full-sized laptop, so not nearly as heavy and doesn't take up the space like a laptop. It fits easily into my shoulder bag (no need for a separate computer bag). It is fast with the Intel Core 2 Solo processor and 2GB of RAM. The 250GB hard-drive is more than enough for storage. The screen on this netbook is 11.6 inches which is about 1.5 inches bigger than most netbooks. Three USB ports are enough for most applications. You can plug a USB powered DVD drive into two, leaving one for your mouse or flash drive or printer. Battery life seems good and the battery indicator is very helpful (it actually gives you percent of power AND an estimate of time left before you run out of juice). The only problem I have is finding a sleeve for it at local computer stores (bigger screen size). All around I am very satisfied and I love the red color too. I have recommended it to friends already.

Bought this Gateway netbook because my older laptop seemed to be dying. I LOVE IT!!! I also bought the Samsung external drive from Amazon to use with it (in red also).

They both arrived fast and I haven't had ANY problems with either of them whatsoever.

It's light and easy to carry, and I take it with me everywhere.

Very good product. Works fast. Got free Windows 7 upgrade from Gateway. Light, cool looking, better than Netbooks with Atom. Screen 1 inch larger, and that is good, and screen is very sharp/clear. Battery about 6 hr. It easly runs MS Office 2007, Canon picture software, Netflix, Skype with video, YouTube HD, videos. Great for travel!Recomended! Better than I Pad!

This is an after-the-fact review since this is not in stock anymore and might not be again. I bought this Gateway 11.6" netbook last Christmas for my son but I use it as often as he does. I was able to get this very cheaply with the dogged Windows Vista; I selected this because it came with a free Windows 7 upgrade when it was release a few months later. During the upgrade, I got rid of all the junk-ware that came pre-installed, and now it is a screamer. The biggest surprise to me is its blazing BLAZING blazing speed. Video quality is AMAZING, it is able to play full HD movies via HDMI without a single hiccup. This is a high quality product that has *earned* my respect in a year's use.

The laptop I got with a fault and had to return it, so I can not comment on the matter. The company were great, made the refund of the money almost immediately.

I was searching for the perfect notebook for me, one were I can travel with and play good games like Left 4 Dead, Modern Warfare amoung others.
This computer cost me less than 900 dlls, and i was surprised with the quality and all the specs.

Good Processor speed, Memory, HD...
The only thing that I did'n like so much is the 1 Hour Battery.
But I really dont need it, cause I use my notebook like a travel desktop PC.
