5.0 out of 5 stars Budget gaming pc - very nice so far, February 5, 2008
This review is from: Gateway FX7020 Desktop PC (Personal Computers)
I just got my Gateway FX7020 a few days ago. I am very pleased with this unit. I wanted as much bang for my buck on a decent gaming machine as possible, and this was in my price range. FIRST let me say - this is not a high end gaming computer, but it has a lot for the price. 3 gb of ram, 500 gb hard drive, Nvidia 8800gt graphics card. It's nice. I've read a lot of negatives about the 400w power source, but I don't know enough about the technical aspects of the machines to know if this is a big problem, or a nitpick. I priced a dell at 1100$ with much less capability, and a 320 gig hard drive. My biggest complaint is getting used to Vista...

It's very quiet, looks a little odd (trying to hard to look "cool) comes with keyboard, small speakers, tv tuner remote for media center, etc. Hooked right up to my internet via ethernet. I play warcraft online and averaged around 15 frames per second and with this I have 60 frames per second in every place in the game i've been so far, not just the places w/ abnormally high frames per second. It has a dvi port - which i have hooked up to my monitor and it is very nice. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

It's a great gaming pc,even 2 and a half years after I got it the thing still plays newer games like you would expect a computer to do if you just bought it new today. But that's all that's good about it.It has so many problems reading sd cards, won't record audio right and is just slow sometimes, but once you start a game it becomes blazing fast-it's weird.
