You Need the Patch,
This review is from: Gateway GT5032 Desktop Computer (Personal Computers)
This is a GREAT computer, and well worth the price. But, you DO need a patch to solve the video stutter. The problem is tech support at Gateway. It took me 6 calls over 2 days to finally find someone who knew what they were talking about. The first 5 people I talked to knew nothing of this problem, or the patch. I was just ready to take it back, and decided to call tech support one more time. The person said immediately he knew of the problem, and emailed me a link to the AMD patch. Since loading that, this system has been all I've wanted, and more.I would have rated this 5 stars, but the hassle with tech support took this down a notch. The problem that requires this patch is not a Gateway issue, but a Windows Media Center issue. But, Gateway needs to keep all their tech support people up to date with these issues. If you can deal with getting the patch, get this computer. If this scares you, go with something else. But, chances are you will have similar issues with another PC becasue of Windows MCE.

TV segment faulty,

This review is from: Gateway GT5032 Desktop Computer (Personal Computers)
Bought a GT5032 and got a replacement for it because the TV tuner was faulty out of the box. The replacement was faulty too. The TV tuner is the ATI Theater 550 Pro TV Tuner. Techs worked on both, including downloading software from ATI but the TV picture continued to skip/stutter and eventually it would freeze after about 30 minutes. I'm returning the second one for a refund.

GT5032--Fixing TV problem,
By
This review is from: Gateway GT5032 Desktop Computer (Personal Computers)
I've had the computer for about 2 weeks, and so far it's been a good performer for me. I initially had the stuttering and freezing TV problem other had, but when I updated Media Center to the latest patch and the AMD X2 and Nvidia drivers to the latest versions, the problem went away immediately. I bought it for under $800, so to me, the computer was a great deal.
