I am so impressed with this little Gateway Netbook. I had no trouble registering my name as a user without a password (see previous review). Immediately, it recognized my wireless network and asked my if I wanted to join it. All I had to do was enter my Encryption Code and I was online! I also bought the Anytime 7 Upgrade and loaded it with ease. It did take about an hour (instead of 10 minutes) because there were 40 new upgrades to the Home Edition to download. It proceeded without difficulty and restarted itself.

I had no trouble getting used to the slightly smaller keyboard and the display is incredibly bright with excellent resolution. To save battery, the system dims the display if unused for a couple of minutes, but re-brightens as soon as you touch a key or the keypad. It also quickly goes to "sleep" to save battery power, but comes back after touching a key and clicking on your user name.

I also bought a wireless Logitech mouse to go with it. The transmitter is very tiny and fits into the USB 2.0 port of which there are three. Two more are left over for flash drives or whatever such as a CD/DVD drive.

The whole unit with the 3 cell battery is incredibly lightweight at only 2.6 lbs. and feels like a feather in your hand. I am looking forward to learning more about Windows 7 and surfing the net with this tiny netbook!

This is a decent laptop. I have ALWAYS had gateway laptops and love them, but have never had a netbook. Bought this and liked it but be aware you CANNOT customize your desktop background on this as it has windows 7 starter. You can put a small pic (factory or one of your own) in the center using the gadget but that is it.

Also, I am not sure if this is a "netbook" thing but my screen cracked for no reason, internally....I am typing on this laptop right now and the top left corner of my screen is white and black because it cracked inside. I didn't drop it, hit it...anything. I have never had this problem. I am not sure if it is because of this model or it's common in netbooks. But ALSO BE ADVISED the warranty on this computer DOES NOT cover any screen issues...so this problem was not covered and it would cost $100.00 + shipping to fix. (called gateway)

We are really enjoying this computer. It is perfect for searching the web and is small enough to store when it is not needed.

Great little netbook. Easy to use. Have not used the battery yet so I can't judge its life span.

I have had the computer a month. It is a great little computer for my needs. I use it for email, facebook and paying bills. It was at a great price and small enough to slip in my purse.

Have only used it a few times, but really like it. Hooked up to the internet quickly and I love that it has a webcam. Didn't realize that it did until I accidentally hit a button and it came on! I would give this netbook a good review!

I got mine for $239. Too bad the price is back up. This is a very good netbook. Battery life is not a whole day of work, but that's specified. No bluetooth and the sound is very "netbook-ish" as expected. If you want sound use the phone jack. A very high quality netbook cheaper that other brands not as good as gateway. Highly recommended.

We purchased the gateway LT2023 for my wife and kids recreational use. This has met every expectation that we had for the specifications of the product.

I bought this for travel(airline) so all that is needed are the basics,ie: access the internet and photos. A long battery life is not important when international broadband and wireless costs are considered. Free Wi-Fi is not always available. 2-3 hours is plenty.
