I received this computer a week ago. I decided on this one after much research. It comes with the New Intel Core i3 processor and 500GB hard drive as well as 4 GB memory. It has HD display and is equipped with Windows 7. There are 4 USB ports and an HDMI port. The only this I don't like is that the display (larger or smaller) only has 2 settings. Comparing it to a Dell Studio, it a better price point and has more features/memory. The web cam is also nice. I previously had an HP with a web cam and this one is much better. The multi gesture touch pad is interesting. It does work, but takes time to become adjusted to the techniques. I am really enjoying the computer. It's pretty fast and it has the memory I need for school/work. I would recommend this computer, but I am not an expert, just a consumer.

I am going to cut right to the main point. The WiFi on this laptop wouldn't stay connected. In one hour, it might go out 10 times. I returned the first one I got to Amazon and got a replacement of the same model. I had the exact same problem with both. Didn't matter if I was three feet from the WiFi router or across the house. Same issue all the time. If it wasn't for that, I would have kept the laptop. If you don't need WiFi, this might be be a fine choice, but in my opinion WiFi is crucial in a laptop. That's why I only gave it a two. This would get a four if not for the issue. Finally returned this and bought an HP - zero problems.

Pros:
I love the look of this laptop.
It has a beautiful LCD
I like the case design
Four USBs and HDMI
Lots of RAM and storage

Cons:
Couldn't get the laptop to stay connected via WiFi (both units had same problem)
Numpad makes it harder to hit the correct keys

I love this laptop! It has the hard drive capacity and processor strength of laptops that cost a LOT more. I haven't had any problems at ALL. It has run smoothly, and was very easy to set up and begin using. The ONLY thing that I'm not crazy about is that the number pad on the keyboard is smaller than most laptops that have a number pad. The number keys are smaller, and the decimal point is not at the bottom of the numbers, where it is SUPPOSED to be.... It is at the top. So, that confuses me and will take quite a bit of getting used to. Other than that, I have totally loved it! I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

Purchased this laptop about 1 1/2 year ago and haven't had any major problems with it. For about half the money of a similar laptop it has met and exceeded my family's needs. This laptop is fast and reliable. The only problem we're having now after all this time is that the battery is dying and a message appears "consider replacing your battery." I have to admit I've had laptops with batteries that lasted 2 - 3 years before dying off, but the battery for the laptop is only $45 so it's worth it in the end.
The laptop doesn't get hot on the bottom like most of the laptops I've had until now. The fan is built into the back so I don't claug it when sitting on to sofa and browsing. The wifi works great. Nice options like the 1-touch buttons for backup, wifi, touchpad, and program. Sleek design, and not very thick for its size.
Overall I rated this product a 4 star only because of it's battery life. But If given the choice again, I'd probably go with this laptop again.

I got my computer a few weeks ago and it is already working much better than my ill-fated HP purchase. The only problem is that I keep losing internet connection despite using my USB cable. I am also having trouble making a recovery disc. It always stalls when it starts to verify the disc and I'm not sure if the discs burn properly or not.(I'm hoping this does not give me problems later on.)

Wish me luck that this one will work well for me.

This is a great computer, it has all the features to allow it to compete with far more expensive models, however I am having a battery issue! (anyone else having this problem?) It won't charge. If I have it on the power cord it works fine, the minute I unplug, it's gone. It turns off and I have to replug it in and keep it on juice. So sad because I was loving this laptop and it's competitive price.

Awesome laptop. Gateway is the only computer I have ever bought and they continue to impress me!

Para aquellos usarios habituales del teclado numerico, es una falla que el punto "." no este ubicado donde normalmente lo tienen los teclados numericos estandar, lo que radica en algunas molestias para trabajos con componente numericos.

La bateria tiene una adecuada duración, es liviano y el color es bien llamativo y agradable.

Les recomiendo a quienes deseen comprar un buen portatil, que se inclinen por Gateway, uno de los mejores fabricantes de Computadores.
