Great Monitor, Horrible Customer Service, December 18, 2008
This review is from: Gateway XHD3000 30" Widescreen HD LCD Monitor (Electronics)
Pros: Great Monitor when working, Multiple Inputs, PiP, Works Great with Vista x64 and even Windows 7 x64
Cons: After less than a year of use Green tint over entire screen, flickering images, complete screen failure, horrible customer support.
Have to agree with the other reviews. I've had my monitor for almost a year now and it has completely died on me (keeps telling me no available input despite having multiple inputs plugged-in, and even that image flickers with a green tint over the entire screen), yet gateway's tech support tells me that it must have been something I did to it and therefore cannot be covered under warranty and asked me for a credit card number before they would go any further. It was the same story both times I called back, I would still like to know how I did something to a device that hasn't been moved since it was plugged in after purchase. I will never recommend another Gateway product to anyone, regardless of how innovate their products are, simply because they do not back-up their products.

hate gateway, January 1, 2009
This review is from: Gateway XHD3000 30" Widescreen HD LCD Monitor (Electronics)
After loving my monitor for a year and two weeks my monitor started to act like a strobe light. Checking different forums suggested that i get another power supply for my monitor. Called Gateway to purchase another power supply for the monitor and they said they couldnt help me because my warranty was up, they sujested to call their tech support for $60 to help resolve my problem. So i hung up and called again to be given numbers to variors vendors that sell refurbished powersupplys, and none of them carry them, asked gateway again for usefull numbers only to be given fake numbers and even to retailer tigerdirect (which doesnt carry the item i need). So my monitor sits useless for almost a month now. Spent nearly 2k after taxes when it first came out, Dismal support from gateway. No one carries the power supply for this unit and no one wants to help. Never buying from gateway again. Going back to my old dell 17" monitor thats been used in a a heavy restaurant enviroment for about 5yrs.

Piece of Junk - Beware!!, January 22, 2008
This review is from: Gateway XHD3000 30" Widescreen HD LCD Monitor (Electronics)
Updated Review:
This is a Piece of Junk. These monitors have a knack of constantly failing in just over a year of purchase. Gateway does not support these monitors one bit.
Worst decision in electronics purchase made by me ... ever. Don't ever buy any Gateway product - you'll regret it.
My original review:
Got this beauty home last month. 2560x1600 resolution is just amazing - but its not a novel thing - apple and dell both have displays that support the same resolution.
This is however the first monitor that all kinds of analog and digital inputs you can think of - composite, svideo, component, vga, dvi, hdmi that can scale all the video inputs to the native resolution!
Everyhing gets converted to 1600p!
Monitor stand is very well built - no gripes about not being able to adjust the height. Speaker bar comes witht he unit - but you may want to get something nicer. I have connected the output of the speaker bar to a PC 2.1 audio system. Heat sensitive control panel is very nice to use -but could be more reliable
Personally I'm waiting for prices to go down just a bit so I can get another one! The Dell 3008WFP has a higher color gamut and more video inputs but mind you its a glossy screen and there are no audio inputs, no speaker bar, no remote, and the menu navigation sucks
On the cons side the color gamut on this baby is lower at 78% but i have no major objections. IR Remote could have been better - especially discrete inputs for each source would rock - why o why is this never designed?
This monitor can be anything you want it to be and there is no better value in the market if you want all those features. If you want to buy just one monitor/TV for your house, buy this!!
