5.0 out of 5 stars A fascinating investigation into possibilities of other worlds.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good topics; poorly written.
I had trouble reading the book. The book's chapter flow was meant to transition and from one point to the next in an attempt to connect the dots. However, it was more like jumping from chapter to chapter. I found some of the later chapters easier the read. Overall, do not recommend this book at any price over $10.

We've all wondered if there really is life after death. We've all wondered if there is life that we can't see, souls among us that are not visible to our eyes but felt in our heart.

This book examines these and other subjects. It examines ESP. It looks at the Pryamids. But what I found most fascinating was that the book makes the argument that ancient man was much more aware and attuned to the world than we heretofore believed. They knew "their place in the universe."

The book looks into many mysterious issues that people from the beginning have wondered about.

The book is easy to read and well structured. It provides what could be considered a good deal of evidence.

Whether you end out believing or not, this book is well worth reading.

Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Researching Mystical Pathways, February 23, 2008
Philip Gardiner takes the reader on an adventurous and exciting journey which includes ancient cultures, pagan religions, monuments, and ceremonies. He also explores Judaic and Christian religious symbols and stories, Masonic symbols and architecture, quantum energy systems and even bineural brain wave pattern training - all to scientifically search for what constitutes a mystical, other-worldly experience. The author takes a scientific look at ancient and modern human attempts to connect to the mystical realm. Or perhaps more accurately to explore Reality and Life as we know it on a deeper level. He avoids New Age references and also distances himself from any religious belief systems or dogmas. It is a non-biased approach to finding out how ancient and modern mankind connects to the mysteries of the esoteric world. The author uses down to earth understandable language to explain many deep and complex subjects which makes this a very satisfying book to read.

The reader discovers that ancient civilizations, Shamans from cultures around the world who had no contact with each other whatsoever, all used similar symbols, forms, and devices to describe a common experience. In some cases, herbs, drugs, or snake venom was ingested to arrive at this "other realm, an understanding of energy systems, a connection to something believed to be a Higher Realm. Breathing techniques were another means of achieving this experience. The author points out, the ancients who preceded us had a better understanding of the great cycles of life which modern man has only recently discovered. Ancient mankind worked with the electromagnetism of the earth and certain cycles of nature, it took many thousands of years to map and track the stars and measure the effects of time and energy ...History, myths, and legends remind us of customs and knowledge possessed by shamans and religious practicioners which survived into modern times. The author explores Sumerian myths, Celtic traditions, the Hindu gods and godesses, Egyptian religous symbols, the Minoan cultural beliefs, Christian symbols and architecture, Judaic stories, and finds unique connections.

Of particular interest was the chapter on towers and pyramids. It turns out the Great Pyramid of Giza was actually used as a "gateway to other worlds" which means the Egyptians had ceremonies where energy converged within the pyramid based on scientific principles, some of which are quantum in nature. There is a connection between the pyramids and altered states of consciousness which the author describes. Another fascinating discussion is about how rocks, stones, and even the soil can act as an antenna to collect magnetic energy waves. Ancient towers were built as "earth antennas" to generage electromagnetic energy. Another enlightening discovery was the sound frequency of the earth, which is F sharp. Amazingly, Dr. David Deamer a professor of chemistry and biochemistry at the University of California in 1988 researched the vibrational frequency of four base DNA molecules. Essentially, he found that F sharp was found present three times in each base collection. So human DNA is harmonically tuned to that of the earth! Another fascinating concept is how human beings are tuned into the stars. Electromagnetic waves surround us and there is an interplay and exchange of energies ... The author makes some startling conclusions and jaw-dropping connections. Overall, this is a highly recommended book to read based on genuine scientific discoveries which connect us to ancient practices in ways unimaginable. Erika Borsos [pepper flower]

4.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating read, February 12, 2008
I was very impressed with Phili Gardiner's, "Gateways to the Otherworld". It made me think about things in a new light. In the book, Philip addresses issues that mankind has pondered forever. He explains how the ancient Egytians and others were able to travel to the "Otherworld" and he answers questions such as: 1. Is ESP real? 2. Is there a universal frequency that allows the mind to travel to other realms. 3. Does the Great Pyramid hold a secret to the quantum realm? 4. What are those mysterious round towers found scattered around our planet? He covers how we are no longer in harmony with the earth, what happens after death and more.

The 263 page, softcover book includes black and white (often grainy) photographs of sites and people referred to in the book, including stone altars in Malta, the obelisk in Rome, the author undergoing brain balancing etc.

The book flows easily, with the author leading the reader from one conclusion to another. The only jolt was when the author mentions how he was drinking orange juice when he was thinking about something...other than that the flow was smooth. However, it is not an easy read. I personally do not have a full grasp on quantum physics and much of what he discussed from votexes to the resonance of the earth and more was difficult for me to understand. It will help if the reader has had some background in these areas. If not several readings of the book may be needed to fully grasp the concepts.

Overall a very eye opening and fascinationg read!

5.0 out of 5 stars How did it start and where does it end?, January 24, 2008

Gardiner has put together an excellent review of the many mysteries of life that have challenged man ever since his beginnings.
He looks at the various religions, beliefs, legends, mysteries, science, superstitions, cults, symbols, unexplained phenomena, ancient organzations and artifacts,ESP,philosophies, phychotropic experiences, and a wide range of forces;all in an effort to determine if there is an Otherworld and what are the ways it can be approached.
As he looks at the ancient, as well as current religions ,he sees many of the same elements present in all of them.
He shows how the peoples who have preceeded us by many thousands of years have shown that their grasp of knowledge was much greater than we can ever imagine was possible. This wisdom and knowledge has left a continuous trail of evidence that even today we are unable to understand or explain.
Our culture today leads us to believe there is an answer to all questions and through science ,deduction and reasoning;we can find them. This leads to the conclusion that man is supreme and there is no higher order than himself. We have come to believe that the human mind can understand everything. All one has to do is look at history and see how little man has really understood over the ages and how little he really knows in the overall scheme of things.
This book asks a lot of questions, but like many other books on the subject, has few answers.
As much as the amount of knowledge of mandkind grows;the simple questions remain.Where did we come from? why are we here, and where are we headed?Couple that with, are there others in Otherworlds;and you begin to see the great mysteries of science and life.
This book is much more than a guick read and provides an extensive reference source for further reading, study or explanation of many things you will come across in reading about ancient and current religions, cultures, beliefs, and so forth.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Unique Explanation of Ancient Mysteries, February 3, 2008
Mr. Gardiner does an excellent job of examining the ancient mysteries of Stonehenge, Avebury, the Great Pyramid, Crystal Skulls and other unexplained phenomena, ultimately creating a very plausible theory that these items represent gateways into other worlds through the magnification and alteration of human consciousness. Although this work is beyond the current realm of mainstream scientific thought, it is carefully researched and the conclusions are difficult to dispute. This is not a light, New Age lark, but rather a serious scientific examination of ancient history and its relationship to current scientfic thought.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mindbending, May 12, 2010

I know we like to think that we're the most advanced civilization so far, but besides our gadgets which most of can only use, not build, what do we have? Our ancestors were a whole lot smarter than we give them credit for and, I might say, a lot smarter that we are today. We have cellphones and texting, they could peer into the other dimensions using only the power of their mind. We build skyscrapers that sometimes don't last our lifetime. They built pyramids something we still can't do. They aligned their buildings to the stars. We build where we can get the best property for our money. We think about our generation, they thought about what was to come thousands of years from their time.

Philip Gardiner ties together both science and ancient history to build a case that we're beginning to get a glimpse into worlds of quantum entanglement that our ancestors used in their daily lives. Are we finally catching up? It has taken us until now to understand what they knew thousands of years ago. How did they know that everything was connected? Maybe we just thought they weren't advanced because they didn't use technology, but then again, maybe they didn't need to.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Quest for the gateway, February 7, 2008
Join this author in the search for the gateway into the otherworld of the ancients. What is the meaning of all the ancient monuments around the world, Stonehenge, the Great Pyramid, and the Pyramids in the new world? Why did all ancient civilizations in the world worship serpents? What is the nature of human conciousness? What can modern science tell us now that the ancients already knew? Were Jesus, Buddha, and Moses all Shamans trying to show mankind the same thing before their teachings were corrupted? If this sounds of interest to you buy and read this book, it examines many mysteries of the ancient world, you will come away with some answers. It could change the way you think and see the world forever. You may discover that the otherworld of the ancients is with in you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Disturbing and Interesting!, April 11, 2008
To me this work was both disturbing and interesting. Strange mixture isn't it? In this work by, Philip Gardiner, we are taken on many journeys into the past that perhaps link with the present and the future. Mr. Gardiner has scientifically searched out evidence concerning pagan religions, ceremonies, symbol used by religions, and detailed information on the pyramids.
This is just to name a few of the many mysterious subjects he covers in this book. Subjects that man has wondered about for a long time. and you have to shake your head and say, " Did he truly find the answers?"
Often in some of the information put forth by Mr. Gardiner I saw a joining with Quantum principals, especially concerning the pyramids, which I found very interesting. He also examines such ancient mysteries as Stonehenge, Avebury and Crystal Skulls. However, to me the book was a little deep and I think it will take several readings for me to fully grasp all the information that is contained in it. It is one of those books that you will read the information, mull it over, go back and reread and think some more. Interesting to say the least.
I will say that the author didn't leave many stones unturned in his research and seemed to give a non-bias account of what he discovered.
Definitely some of his findings will not set well with all that read the information given, although the final belief of it all will have to be left up to each reader to decide for themselves in the quest of revealing the mysteries to the otherworld.
