More About the Author

Russ Resnik encountered Jesus as Lord and Messiah in the early 70s as a young radical in the mountains of northern New Mexico. Today, he serves as executive director of the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations (UMJC), an association dedicated to establishing, strengthening, and multiplying congregations for Jesus, or Yeshua, within the wider Jewish community.

In his work with the UMJC, Russ provides direction and administrative oversight and for this family of congregations that is dedicated to reaching Jewish people with the good news of Messiah. He also serves as its spokesman to the wider Christian and Jewish communities, and as a rabbi to rabbis within the Messianic Jewish community. Over the past five years, Russ has traveled throughout the USA, and ministered in Israel, South America, Canada, Mexico, and South Africa. He has made numerous trips to Israel to strengthen ties with the Messianic Jewish community there.

Russ is ordained as a Messianic Rabbi through the UMJC and also maintains credentials as a clinical mental health counselor. He contributes regularly to a number of Messianic publications and is the author of Gateways to Torah, a study of the Five Books of Moses from a unique Messianic Jewish perspective, Creation to Completion: A Guide to Life's Journey from the Five Books of Moses, and the recently released Divine Reversal: The Transforming Ethics of Jesus. Russ and his wife Jane live in Albuquerque and have four children and six grandchildren.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading the Gateways to Torah book. I was very intrigued by it because of the spiritual insight that it contained. I couldn't put it down, and due to this fact it didn't take a long time to finish reading it. It was very informative and insightful. I highly recommend this book for people who are interested in learning more about the Torah.

This book has really opened up such a wealth of new understanding of the Torah. Although each chapter is short, it is full of thoughtful insight and inspiration and just how incredible our God is. It really makes you want to dig deeper. I will be looking forward to reading other books by this author.
