Beauty and Sorrow, April 20, 2004
This review is from: Gathering Eye, The (Perfect Paperback)
The beautiful wrought language, the painful look at the world of women, the world of Islam from a woman's point of view, the details that make me feel I'm in Egypt with you, dear poet. This is an unforgettable book full of beauty and sorrow. The eye weeps for all that it sees.

Sensuous, exotic verse, February 23, 2004
This review is from: Gathering Eye, The (Perfect Paperback)
This is the type of poetry that allows you to travel in your head. The type of poetry that sings. The type of poetry that will last as long as the pyramids.

The poems in this collection are amazing. Tina Barr manages to paint on the page a stunningly visual and visceral world with words. She is the real thing.
