A light enjoyable read,
By Fairylander (AR USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Gathering of Finches (Dreamcatcher Series #3) (Paperback)
This love story was between two self-centered people who didn't truly know how to love so spent a lot of time being dishonest to each other and themselves. I enjoyed reading it but found it frustrating as well. I read it as if I were a fly on the wall watching it rather than feeling that I could identify with the characters. They seemed shallow and heartless. It was a quick read and it kept my attention but the plot just wasn't developed deeply.

legands and headliners,

I have visted Shore Acres twice and both times never wanted to leave, why? The same reason Cassie Simpson nerver wanted to leave. The beauty the scenery possesed and the connection of feeling of one. This book sent me to tears at the end. I have a book I purchased on one of my adventures to shore Acres and I knew of the ending but this Author is one of the best i have EVER come across who's words touched me so deeply. looking forward to reading all of her books, now on my 3rd. book. and who better to tell of the great people who are legands and headliners that shapped the state i live in.

Once again Jane Kirkpatrick has touched my heart with her writing. I would and do recommend all of her books to friends and family.

Jane Kirkpatrick transports you in her books, bringing rich stories to life. I read this book about 18 months ago, yet it stands out in my mind as one of my top reads for the past decade.

I read A Gathering of Finches years ago. The story has stayed with me, as if I were remembering my own family's past.

This book got me hooked,
This review is from: A Gathering of Finches (Dreamcatcher Series #3) (Paperback)
I had never heard of Jane until I picked this book off the shelf several years ago. It was the cover photo that caught my attention. From that point on I was hooked. I have every book she has written. She just has such a wonderful talent to weave a story with historical substance. I have not been disappointed in anything she has written.

The ultimate love story.,

Jane Kirkpatrick transfered the story of Cassie Simpson with a poetic quality that I loved. I don't read very many books more than once and I read this one 3 times. She relies on substantial detail when it is needed and cuts back to very few words when that is more effective. The descriptions of "place" are very accurate and transform the reader so that you can actually feel the sea.Read and enjoy!

Kirkpatrick a rare find,

When it comes to writing fiction that's leavened with faith, and history that's imbued with heart, Jane Kirkpatrick is simply unequaled in America. In a world of shallow, she is deep. In a world of trite, she is profound. In a world of sugar-coating, she is refreshingly real. Discovering Kirkpatrick is like finding an unbroken sand-dollar on the beach.

Jane Kirpaterick did a beautiful job writing this book and a enjoyed reading it so much. I live in the area close to the the Simpson estate at Shore Acres and go there often. It is a beautiful garden and very well kept. My grandfather, John Kruse, was a Master Shipbuilder for Asa Simpson so the book had a lot of meaning to me. I would love it if Jane could autograph it for me.

Loved It!,

I absolutely loved this book! I could not put it down, nor could I stop thinking about the book for a week after I had finished it. The research the author put into this book is amazing. It made me want to learn more about the main characters in this book, the Simpsons, and to visit the site of Shore Acres, their home, which is now a state park.
