4.0 out of 5 stars The Best are Back Together!!
The Living Legends are back together with an album that is current and original but keeps with the classic Bay area/NorCal style that has produced some of the greatest rappers like Mac Dre and Too Short. The Grouch (Who also has a new album), Eligh and Bicasso have produced a classic for anyone who craves real hip hop and is sick of the mainstream TRL shoveled crap that...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Their Best Work
Has a few good songs but it's not their best work by any means. The cd is just too short. My copy of "Classic" is in the mail and I know it won't disapoint.

The Living Legends are back together with an album that is current and original but keeps with the classic Bay area/NorCal style that has produced some of the greatest rappers like Mac Dre and Too Short. The Grouch (Who also has a new album), Eligh and Bicasso have produced a classic for anyone who craves real hip hop and is sick of the mainstream TRL shoveled crap that has diluted hip hop music. Tracks go from a laid back, Jazzmatazz feel like in "After hours" to the relevant and political message in "War and Peace." The only thing I wish is that it was a full album and not an EP because all 7 tracks will leave you wanting more. Check it out if you want to hear tight cutz from guys who have been around the scene and will take it in new directions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bangin, May 31, 2008
This review is from: The Gathering (Audio CD)
Not a hip-hop head, so from the perspective of someone who dabbles, this could be the most instantly listenable and head bang-able "indie" rap album I've ever heard. I'm new to about half of the guys on here, familar with Murs, love Aesop, like Scarub. The beats and the vocals are completely in sync and there's consistent driving energy through the whole CD. The reveiwer above me really put it perfectly: "Bangin. Different, great. Unbelievable beats. Instant classic. Revolutionary direction." I second all of that. I'd also add smart to the list.

I got creative differences and classic and I'm a big fan of the Grouch. The price is right. I've just gone through it a couple times now. Bangin. Different, great. Unbelievable beats. Instant classic. Revolutionary direction.
