I won't spoil the plot because I hate when people do that. I will say that I liked this book and found it hard to put down, the characters are strong and the plot was well fleshed out. The one thing that bothered me was that it seemed a bit complex at times. The author is fond of dropping little hints that I'm sure will be relevant in later entries and one character confused the fire out of me. A "lost in time" sort of character but I figure the character is supposed to be a bit confusing. This is definitely not a reason to avoid the book - it has some great themes relating to family ties and the importance of true love. Recommended for those who are interested in deep characters and the darker side of the fantasy genre.

What a powerful story! I haven't read anything this original in a while. I am deeply impressed with the author's imagination and skill in weaving together a novel that has such a powerful message. It's a simple, time honored phrase. Love conquers all!! I look with anticipation to the author's future work.

Young and sweet love between Mary and Cyrus is just budding. Neither of them know what is following them and one of the dark things wants to keep them apart. Mary is sucked into a mystical darkness that is destroying both Mary and Cyrus and those around them.

The story starts out so sweet and then really get dark and sad. I like the good mystical side that follows Cyrus, Teagan, and Cyrus' brother. The darkness that takes Mary is not supposed to be liked. I am not sure whether I liked or disliked them not mention that the monsters are vampires. I find it funny how the author seems to go to such extremes to not mention the name of the dark force following Mary. To be honest I liked the book sometimes and then it annoyed me during other times. It just seems like this story and the series is not going to be happy one but you make your decision I will stick with mine.

Amazing...I absolutely loved it! There were so many points in the book that something would happen that I was not expecting at all and it made it so intriguing! There was sadness but through that sadness came wonderful changes, things that helped shape the story into what it was! I can't wait for the next book to be finished so I can find out how things play out, I'm sure I will be shocked and wowed by his wonderful imagination! I definitely recommend this book and will be reading it more than once! =)

I absolutely loved this book. I was amazed by the author's ability to make me feel the emotion as the characters did. There was wonderful character development and an outstanding story line. I was impressed by the way the paranormal mixed into the normal and I cannot wait for the story to continue!

B.L. Tackett's first book is a great introduction. This book seems to be setting up a very interesting story. During the course of this book you get to know some fantastic, well thought out (and terribly troubled) characters, as the world of the supernatural shoves itself in their faces. I'm really looking forward to the next book in this series.

Absolutely loved it! A definite triumph from the world of indie publishing. Well done to B.L. Tackett. It's an awesome combination of modern and ancient worlds, and set in an area that I can honestly say I've never seen in a fantasy (urban fantasy?) novel. Every time I thought I knew what would happen, I was wrong. I was drawn in right away and didn't want to put it down. Can't wait for more from this author!
