Gatlin Brothers Come Home DVD

It was great that the Gatlin Brothers came home and did this video. They are the best trio I've heard in the gospel music field. Larry is a good lead singer and song writer and Rudy and Steve add what is needed to back him up. They are all outstanding singers.

I was very happy with this DVD and it arrived in very good condition. Larry Gatlin is one of my favorite singers. He tells his story very openly about his being a prodigal son at one time. I read his book "All the Gold in California quite some time ago and that was the first I knew that he had lost
his way at one time.

I am enjoying the older "Homecoming" tapes produced by the Gaithers. This one featuring the Gatlin Brothers was not only entertaining but an inspiration. I was especially touched as Larry Gatlin's spoke of his spiritual journey. The tributes he paid the various singers were heartfelt, genuine, and meaningful. Their responses indicated a deep love and respect for Larry and the whole Gatlin family. The backup music provided by the "Homecoming Friends" was an added highlight of the evening. Great listening and viewing for gospel music lovers.

I have always loved the music of the Gatlin Brothers so of course I loved this DVD. I am so glad that Larry and His Brothers have become a part of the Homecoming Family. I love to hear them sing.

Other than occasionally watching the Gaither Homecoming series, I haven't been into Gospel music as much as when I was younger.

Recently I've been re-discovering it. I happened to read Henry Slaughter's regular column on mybestyears.com. Then I ordered his book, In Search of the Pearl of Great Price: The Unforgettable Autobiography of Henry Slaughter.

One of the next steps after ordering this DVD and Bill & Gloria Gaither and Their Homecoming Friends: Passin' the Faith Along was to get Larry's book, All the Gold in California: And Other Places, People, & Things. The Gatlins were always one of my favorite country groups, but I didn't know how much of a background they had in Gospel music.

Plus, it was good to read about the life behind all the headlines.

I heartily recommend these DVDs and books to anyone!
