Fantastic,

Flawless double album - a feat rarely accomplished by anyone who attempts to put so many songs together in one release. CD 1 has more electric energy and faster tempos, CD 2 is no less energetic but more subtle and introspective. Found out about Amaral after learning that Bob Dylan in 2007-2008 picked them to do a Spanish cover of his anthem "Hard Rain's Gonna Fall."

Fantastic album by a very popular band in Spain (from Zaragoza.) Great music. Diverse sounds within this 2-disc set. I have heard people compare them to another well-known Spanish band called Oreja de Van Gogh however I find OVG too poppy. I think Amaral has a much more interesting sound. Highly recommended.

What you get when intelligent, sophisticated people make music...,

This album is very, very good. The songs are well written, arranged and produced, and the band pulls off a 19-song double CD without a trace of repetitiveness.
Eva Amaral's voice, one of my two all-time favorite female pop voices, is, incredibly, better than before. Her tone is richer and her melodies sweeter. Her use of two different voices on the final song, Concorde, is a sublime artistic touch that actually becomes more impactful upon repeated listening. One final comment on the lyrics: Although I don't know whether Eva Amaral or Juan Aguirre share lyric-writing jointly, switch off, or whether one person does most of the writing most of the time, I do know that the quality of the lyrics is extremely good, at times pure poetry, and very near in quality to the best lyricists of whom I'm aware - accessible, subtle, layered and leaving the listener thinking about the song after it's finished.

Best Amaral Album Yet,

I'm a huge fan of Amaral and I have all 5 of their albums. Like another reviewer said, it is very difficult to put together a double album that is consistent and successful. I honestly can't find a filler track on this album, every song is fantastic. On a scale of 1-10, there are maybe 2 songs that are 7s, the rest are all 8+. Best Rock en Espanol album I've heard in quite some time. Best tracks I feel are "La Barrera del Sonido", "Kamikaze", "Blues de la Generacion Perdida", and "Rock&Roll". If you get one Spanish-language album this year, get this one. Phenomenal.

Variety and Depth,

I've been a fan of Amaral since I first heard a couple of their songs in Spain a few years ago. I was impressed by their thoughtful lyrics and melodies that stay in your head. This album doesn't disappoint. All 19 songs are great and each is unique, not just a variation on a theme. They range from the upbeat and catchy "Kamikaze" and "Es Solo una Cancion" to the slower and heartfelt "Rock & Roll" and "De Carne y Hueso". The track "Dragon Rojo" is beautiful but actually has no lyrics. Altogether an interesting and worthwhile album.

By chance is there a sixth star rating?
I came upon this band about a year ago by accident. I was listening to their pop song, "El Universo sobre mí", and found it catchy and interesting. Intrigued, I sent for that album. After a week I bought all of their CD's. I immediately fell in love with the music, and was captivated by Eva Amaral's soft and beautiful voice. Their music opitimizes rock, folk, and country. Gato Negro Dragón Rojo is my personal favorite to date. It shows a maturity in style and writing that is worthy of an Emmy in my opinion. And yes they sing all in Spanish! For me that's not a problem as I understand, and speaks it fluently. But for those of you who don't, with a little effort you can easily learn the lyrics. Her Spanish is so clear and the songs so catchy, well... This double CD is worth the bucks. I find myself playing this record again and again. Keep an ear tuned for the rocky, El Blues de la Generación Perdida, and the tremendous balads, Biarritz, and Doce Palabras. WOW!!! As far as I am concerned there is not 1 bad song on this disc. ENJOY!!!

I could not wait to hear the new album. The tease, 20 second audio for selected tracks were free but I had to hear it all man. Not a dissapointment by any means, good album. Not their best but there are a few priceless gems here. I personally do not think this should have been a double album. They could have trimed some songs and put the product out as a single album in what could have been in my opinion a stronger more enjoyable cd. If you like Amaral, you have to get it man.
