When I bought my guitar, the seller threw in a gig bag. While the gig bag was convenient, it lacked any solid protection giving me the feeling it was nothing more than a glorified duffle bag. After doing some looking around I happened upon this one and had my local guitar shop get it for me and swap it out with a minor cost difference charge. I am glad I did. I've taken my guitar on airline trips and feel completely secure that my investment inside is well protected...

This is a great lightweight case. I'm using it for my 1923 Martin 0-18. This guitar is smaller around the waist than a classical, but fits the length of the body perfectly so it won't slide up on you. There is also plenty of room at the headstock (very important). I could stuff a polishing cloth by the waist of the guitar (between the side of the guitar and the case) if I wanted it to not slide at all side to side.

Here's the thing... nobody makes a lightweight case for a 0-18 sized guitar. This is the best one. I've heard people say the backpack straps will eventually break. I've never owned any case in my life where this didn't happen. When it does you just replace the straps, no big deal. The straps are hooked with latches on both ends, so you could replace them with anything.

This review is for my use of the case and how it fits a 0-18. I can't vouch for how it would fit your particular classical guitar.

Oh... it also has a bigger inside pocket than any case I've owned. One word of caution... don't put anything sharp in the very outside mesh pocket, as you can rip the meshing. Use the inside part of that pocket instead (it's a double pocket).

Highly recommended!

- John

The dimensions provided by Gator Cases are incorrect. The one most wrong is the body depth which is stated to be 4.5". The depth in the bottom half of the case is only 3.25" to 3.50". The depth in the upper half (lid) is only 0.50" to 0.75". Even a 4.0" body acoustic guitar will not fit in this case.

This case is light and yet the sturdy foam construction looks & feels like it will withstand some serious battering. Maybe not by a gorilla baggage handler at an airport, but certainly it'll hold up after being tossed into a band's van or knocked over by a large, dopey dog. I wasn't sure it would fit my 1946 Martin 00-18, but I was delighted to find it was a perfect fit. Nice and snug fit, but it was easy to put the guitar in the case and just as easy to remove it. My Regal wooden resonator guitar also fits in perfectly, so I'll soon buy another one. The exterior material seems sturdy, too, and well fabricated. And the price is lower than some gig bags and lots cheaper than a good hardshell case. Five stars, for sure!

Pros:
It fits like a glove to my Ramirez
Its light and quite comfortable to carry
it is somehow less bulky than my hard case
the pockets are quite convenient to carry sheet music and book
I have not used it much at all will leave another review in a couple of months..
Price wise very good deal
Cons
the finishing in one side is not perfect , I don't think nothing to worry about but just not perfect. The zippers could run a bit better i think with some Vaseline they will do better. They are good quality though. Still I would buy it again

I haven't been as surprised and pleased by anything I have ordered in a long time. This case is really perfect. It is not a lightweight, flimsy case. It is really well-padded with light but very dense foam. The exterior is a tough, super high-quality nylon and looks great. I have been looking for a really good gig bag to carry around at all the Old Time and Bluegrass festivals here in NC. The heavy plywood cases get really tiring by the end of the day, and I have shoulder problems. This Classical size Gator case is just what I wanted for my L-00, L-1 and 00-21 guitars. Of these three pre-war 00 size guitars, 2 are 12 fret, and one is 14 fret. They ALL fit perfectly: snug, no slop, secure. Wow, I don't usually write reviews, but for anyone who has been looking for a light but super safe case for small body guitars, this is it.

The guitar case fit my Yamaha Flamenco nylon guitar perfectly. Gator case affords you more protection than a standard moderately padded gig bag and the ergonomics of the case makes it very comfortable to carry or use the backpack straps. A real bang for your buck case, I hope I can find a Gator for my auditorium size acoustic guitar.

Case did NOT fit any of the (3) dread naught guitars I have. It is too small, narrow and shallow. It would have been VERY helpful to include the exact measurements that can fit in this case. As it is, I've kept it for my Les Paul which it doesn't fit well at all but at lease I can put the Les Paul in this case.
