This is a fine product that both protects the instrument and offers space for the little things you carry with it. It's not as lightweight as you might expect but it's exceptionally sturdy and protective. I'm not sure what you're supposed to do with all the exterior web pockets and such but I'm sure it will come in handy at some point in time. The construction seems to be well thought out and I doubt you'll ever have to replace it.

Gator's clarinet case is a better option than the default hard case,

I got this case because one of the clasps on the original hard case broke off. Since this case is only zippers I would give it a try. This case is all padding for protection of the clarinet. All of my friends like it and they are jealous, so I am happy.
However, this case only opens to a 90 degree opening, whereas the hard case opened to a 180 degree opening. It would be better if this case opened to a 180 degrees for easier access.
