Editorial Reviews

2009 two CD set. The Mungolian collective mixes all of their work, remixes, covers, collaborations and originals into not just one, but in true Prog Rock manner, two albums (each counting in at 59:15,) as they are intended to be heard. The flavors cover everything from House and Disco inspired cheekiness via shameless dabblings with Soft Rock/Norwegian west coast, Balearic, Dub and Ambient, Psychedelia and Techno, all melted into one giant wormhole of sound. Here, you will find Mungolian Jetset hanging out with Mari Boine and Ronny And Renzo in a lavo within the center of the earth, the bizarre Lindstrom/Dominique Leone encounter AKA 16th Rebels Of Mung, as well as journeys with norwegian jazz-kraut legends Eivind Aarset and Nils Petter Molvaer, Psychedelic meetings at the mixing desk with The Shortwave Set and They Came From The Stars, excessive trippings at an Italian nightclub with LSB, hanging out in L.A.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quirktastic August 21, 2011
Format:MP3 Music
Is quirktastic even a word? There's probably a good German word for this, but in a nutshell this is a quirky thing of beauty with equal parts funk, tribal, and who knows what. This is a MUST HAVE album. I loved it the first time through, but only with time did I fully appreciate the genius at work. Could You Be Loved is a brilliant remake of Bob Marley. A Blast of Loser (with Lindstrom) is a cosmic tribal affair. Ocean 0306 with Athana is pretty and lush. The Shortwave Set song Glitches N Bugs is a high point and probably my favorite here. The closer Moon Song is quirky, funny and addictive - it will get stuck in your head! The two CDs worth of music are impeccably produced. Vocals, music and beats are perfectly in proportion. If you consider yourself a music lover you need to own this masterpiece. It will utterly blow your friends' minds and expand their musical horizons. I can't wait for their new artist album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jet Set to the New Set May 17, 2011
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Quite simply put this was one of the best sets of modern dance music (electro, disco, minimal and dub)to come out in the last decade. This music is very smooth in its transitions and very self informed in its different styles, like a good D.J.this music hits all the right peaks and valleys.
This album is a collaboration with the Jet Set and other Scandinavian electro music luminaries. Working with the other musicians in this way gives the songs much more excitement, almost as if the collaborators are producing the Jet Set or vice versa. In general this music has very little to do with the Jet Set's first album witch was much more Jazz Informed.
I would highly recommend this album to anyone who loves hip indie dance infused music in the vein of !!!,Out Hud or anything off the D.F.A. label. Enjoy this one and impress your friends along the way with this underground jewel.
