Very informative and easy to read, October 21, 2004
This review is from: Dr. Gavin's Health Guide for African Americans: How to Keep Yourself and Your Children Well (Paperback)
"Dr. Gavin's Health Guide for African-Americans" is an informative book that is easy to read. It is not cluttered with a lot of medical terminology and Dr. Gavin explains things quite well. He comes across as someone who is truly concerned about the health of African-Americans and their children and people in general regardless of race. I most enjoyed the chapter on weight loss. This chapter doesn't include anything that you may have never heard before, but Dr. Gavin explains things in a realistic manner. Movement helps, exercise is important. Avoid empty calories like soda. The stories that he tells in the book make the book interesting also. I reccomend this book for someone interested in improving their own health or for someone who has a friend or family member whose health you may want to help them improve.
