We've had a number of Gazillion bubble machines.
The first - this one, with an upright rotating set of bubble wands - worked relatively well, but stopped working after maybe a dozen uses. (Granted, one of those uses was for a few hours). When the level of liquid is low, the machine stops making bubbles since it has to pick up enough liquid to cover the wand.

We replaced it the next year with the Typhoon machine - this was awesome, produced a huge quantity of bubbles and worked more reliably since the bubble liquid is sucked up and put on the wands, no matter how low the supply of liquid. It has a large reservoir at the bottom so you don't need to fill it very often - it takes a lot of liquid though.

Our issue now is getting the liquid. Gazillion liquid does produce the best bubbles - they last well, etc. etc. etc. HOWEVER, very few stores stock the liquid, and except for when I first bought the first machine, no-one stocks large size bottles. Even the online vendors like toys.com who are supposed to have them, never have them in stock (I've been on their notify list for a long time!) I've ended up buying from someone in Canada on eBay - otherwise, buying the smaller bottles at ToysRUs, Target, etc. is just too expensive.

Both of these machines don't really work if you try other bubble liquids - other liquids (especially the cheaper kinds in very large size bottles) are much thinner and the liquid drips right off the wands before it has a chance to pass by the blower part to make any bubbles.

We're planning to start making our own bubble liquid and hopefully that will cover us. Otherwise, the machines are useless now.

My machine only worked one good time. It thought it was the batteries (I mean it only takes 8 aa"s whoo...) but it wasn't I cleaned it the way the instructions described. I noticed that it was not sucking up the solution anymore for no reason. I could blow the water through so there was no blockage but there is definately a issue with the suction.

I also discovered that the adapter from my black & decker 12v drill would power the thing up & we could hook it up outside of my house but the dang thing will NOT work.

I just exchanged it for another one I am going to be very particular with it. Aparently the thing is sensitive & the kids should not handel it. I am going to contact the company & see what they say. [...].

I love it & now I am heartbroken...

1.0 out of 5 stars Tried Two of Them...Wouldn't Work Either Time, April 5, 2010

I bought this toy for Easter and I was SO disappointed that it DOES NOT WORK. I followed all directions and turned on the machine. The air was blowing, the wands were spinning, but no bubbles were coming. There is a tube that is supposed to bring the bubble solution up from the base to the wands, but there was no solution getting sucked into the tube. I took it back to the store and got another one, and the lady at the counter said that she had been getting them returned all day (lots of people having issues with the motor or solution tube). Even so, I exchanged it for a new one and just tried that one. Even bigger problems: not only does the tube not bring solution to the wands, but the motor on this one doesn't even work. I've used other Gazillion bubble machines in the past and liked them, but believe me, STAY AWAY from this product!

I bought this item last summer for my then 1 1/2 year old daughter. She LOVED it, and so did I. I had read the reviews and thought that if I followed the care instructions well ( i.e. cleaning it out after every use, making sure the moter did not get wet, only used the gazillion bubble juice, did not keep it on for more than 15 min at a time) that it would at least last 6 months. I was so wrong. After about 2 1/2 months it just did not work at all anymore. My very handy husband took it apart and found that it is made with a really cheap on/off switch that just gave out. He replaced it with a better switch and it once again worked for about two weeks. After that he found the the wires had just corroded inside the moter from all the bubble juice falling on it from normal use. It is just a poor design and I don't see how anyone will have any better ( or longer ) use out of it than we did.

1.0 out of 5 stars Run away!, March 21, 2010

We purchased one of these and found it simply did not work. After loading the eight (!) AA batteries we set it on the patio, pushed the button, and...nothing. The pump that sucks fluid out of the reservoir on the base simply could not pull the bubble juice up to the rotating wands. We checked it and there was no obstruction in the pipe, so there must have been a problem with the pump. My son really wanted this thing to work, so we got another one (both came from Costco). The second one worked. Kind of. Some bubbles came out, but nothing like other bubble machines we've had, and certainly nothing of the level to justify calling this thing a "typhoon". Then, after about six or eight minutes, it quit. Deader than a doornail. A quick check showed that the batteries had ALREADY BEEN SUCKED DRY. What's up with that? So we're taking this one back and won't be buying another one.

Judging from the wide range of reviews for this product, it seems that the quality control on the factory assembly line is nonexistent. You might get one that works, and you might not. My advice: spend your money on something else and don't waste your time.

We got this toy a month ago and have been using it constantly ever since. It really does blow loads of bubbles and has worked great for us so far. A couple things to consider when ordering this; buy LOTS of the Gazillion bubble liquid (1840 ml bottle costs about $9).Gazillion Bubble Solution - 64 oz. and stock plenty of batteries as well! It takes 8 AAs at a time, but I've only had to replace them once in a month of use - using it about an hour at a timeBe sure you follow the cleaning instructions carefully - I take an old toothbrush to ours after a while to make sure we still get lots and lots of bubbles. It sure beats blowing them yourself!

Available at costco.

Bought it for a birthday party and I am glad I tested a couple of weeks before because it is absolute junk

Out of the box (after finding 8 AA batteries) hooked it up and it blew about 1 good bubble each full rotation and dripped a bunch of solution all over the place.

Looking for another product.

I have bought several Gazillion bubbles products, and none have worked properly. They typically work once, maybe a few times if you are lucky and then stop working for no apparent reason. Yes, I followed the specific cleaning instructions and used the correct bubble solution. I think this is a serious product development flaw. Their products are just poorly made. Ultimately the children who receive this toy will be very disappointed.
Stay away!

I bought both this and a companion super size bubble machine from the same manufacturer. This one worked the first time used, but never again. The tubing was no longer sucking the fluid from the resevoir. I tried everything to fix it without results. To the trash.

The other super-size bubble machine NEVER worked from day one. We tried every which way from Sunday to get it to work, but to no avail.

Waste of good money on a very poorly designed and unreliable toy.

Won't ever spend money with this manufacturer's items again.

STRONGLY DISCOURAGE PURCHASE!!
