Upgraded my Dell Dimension 4600 by adding another 1G memory (total 2g)and this AGP graphic card. I already downloaded the lastest driver from the GeForce website. Removed the old 5200 card and inserted this one (perfect fit). The computer recognized card immediately after install. I was concerned that I only had 250W power supply but so far that has not been a problem. Make sure you have a dedicated connection from the power supply to this card. Playing games such as COD-2,3,4, Bioshock, Battlefield, FEAR with no problem. So for around $100, I upgraded instead of buying a new computer.

I bought this for my 4 year old HP. It really improved the frame rates on my sim racing games (NASCAR 2K3, GTR 1 and 2, Race 07 WTCC, NFS, Trackmania) I can run much higher eye candy options as well. Easy to install. I tried ATI and for whatever reason, i couldn't get them to play my games w/o the dreaded ati2dvag.dll error. Google it, so many folks are frustrated w/ those. NVIDIA chips are the way to go. Get the rebate and the extra year warrantee. How can you go wrong?

Great performance, quick & easy install,

Installed the eVGA 7300AGP to replace a WPOS (worthless piece of ****) ATI X1050AGP 256MB on an ASUS A8V mobo driving an Apple Cinema 23" HD at 1920x1200 and a second 19" CRT at 1280x1024. Easy, no-fuss install. Both displays are crisp with fast, smooth scrolling. Also installed a second eVGA 6200 to drive a third LCD display - again, easy install worked perfectly.
Stay away from ATI - their Catalyst Control Center caused my system to hang all the time, and left all kinds of crap behind after the uninstall. Used Revo Uninstaller to get rid of all the leftover pieces (took over an hour). After installing just the ATI display drivers, scrolling was slow and very jumpy.

I got the card and went right in to install it... viewing the programs that I couldnt run they now look excellent (UBISOFT Silent Hunter 4 especially), but game frooze.
turned out two problems: power supply to low, had to get a 500 watt and the card seemed to overheat while at 8X... right now I got the CPU case open for ventilation for the card`s cooling fan is small and seems to have trouble keeping it cool, but this is the tropics and not air condinioned, I have learned to live with it. Went into the bios and changed speed to 4X, games run perfect and Im very happy with the purchase.

Installation was easy...card a bit taller then slot height but not really a big deal, just bend the holding tab a little bit in order to secure card. Downloaded latest driver from Nvidia web site. No problems with card at all and the performance is great for my uses. My last card died and my kids are happy this one can play their Nascar racing game. I'm not a big gamer myself though.

This graphics card is great, one of the last few beefy AGP cards you will find. I used it for about 6 months on my Dell Dimension 4600 and it let me play Team Fortress 2, which I couldn't do before. The card stopped working about 6 months after i started using it, but EVGA has a lifetime warranty if you register the product, which is what I did and I sent them the card and they sent me another card back (Geforce 7600) and that new one worked great on my system as well.
While it lasted it was great, if it had not broken down I would have rated it a 5.

I bought this for my wife to help with pictures and upload time. Seems to work well. I have no complaints.

Defintely much better than the 5200 256 mb card it replaced, but for high end games, more power is still needed. Probably should have bought the 9800 series

Not a lot of cards to choose from as AGP isn't all that popular any more. I bought this graphics card to replace my ATI card which failed (the cooling fan quit). I'm not an extreme gamer, so super-fast performance isn't important to me (although, I think this card delivers).
The card arrived quickly. I uninstalled all of the ATI software and driver, shut down and replaced the card. I restarted the computer, went to the Window update site which showed that there was a new video driver for my card. I downloaded it and it has been smooth sailing ever since. I knew that replacing a video card was relatively easy, but I wasn't expecting it to be this simple. The directions packaged with the card were clear and to the point. A+ all the way.

this was used to upgrade an older card from an older computer(Dimension 4600). Installation was a snap. We had to upgrade the PSU as well since the manufacturer suggested at least 450 watts of power. We were up and running in about 10 minutes. No problems noted while playing Company Of Heroes, Combat Flight Simulator 1&2. Came with a rebate too.
Addendum: After 8 months, this card is still working fine. Upgraded the HDD to 500 gb SATA. This thing is fast. Average 65fps with WoW, 55 fps with COH. |
