Customer Reviews

Neither the keyboard nor mouse is very good.
Michael Kirkpatrick
Even when I slowed down and typed more firmly it would still miss things, occasionally just freezing up for a second or two.

I think buying this wireless keyboard and mouse is Money well spent.

I've owned several Gear Head products, I basically consider everything they
make to be of the disposable variety. Anyway, I've had this set for a week
and so far so good.

The mouse is very responsive {as long as you use a mouse pad}, and the keyboard
works perfectly. Still getting used to the keys as the keyboard tends to miss a
keystroke here and there, but I was already accustomed to a Gear Head layout so
I'll suffer through until I retrain my fingers. BTW, no need to switch off the mouse,
it has a sleep mode and all you need to do to revive it is give it a click, so dont
pay any attention to the people saying the mouse wont wake up on command, all you
have to do is click the damn thing.

Install the AAA batteries {4 provided}, plug in the USB transceiver and the drivers
are automatically installed in about a minute. Reboot and you're ready to go. So far
I haven't had an issue but I am deducting one star cause I know from experience this
set will wind up in the trash some day.

BTW, I was on a wired Gear Head keyboard {USB} and was having all sorts of crazy
problems i.e. Windows Explorer popups, search popups, web pages jumping all around,
was locked out of my program files, etc etc. I thought it was a virus and did everything
I know how to fix the problem...I was out of options and ready to reformat when I
unplugged the keyboard and voo-ah-lah....problem solved. First time I've ever seen
that one. *turns out it was a stuck key*

One final note, I picked this up at the local computer superstore for $15. Thats a great
deal any way you cut it even if this set breaks before the year is up.

Bought this wireless keyboard and mouse for my laptop, plugged in the adaptor and I was using the keyboard and mouse quickly. Works great for me. Good price, nice quality.

this is a good keyboard with a large mouse fits in my hands right, only complain the mouse doesn't have ability to be turned off, have to remove batteries. keyboard is great large enough for me with tilt to keep you from getting carpel tunnel.i would recommend product, but caution you about no off switch on mouse.

I'm typing this review on my old Dell keyboard as I've packed up the KB5150W to return it. It's a very poor product. The keyboard transmitted my keystrokes so unreliably that once or twice per line I'd have to stop and backspace to insert a few missing characters. I'm a fast typist and have a light touch so maybe there's a compatibility issue, but I don't think so. Even when I slowed down and typed more firmly it would still miss things, occasionally just freezing up for a second or two. I spoke to someone at GearHead tech support who thought the problem might be synchronization between the keyboard and the receiver and proposed I return it for repair or replacement. To give them credit, GearHead appeared ready to stand behind its product and maybe it was a defective unit, but who needs the hassle. The mouse was adequate, though somewhat jerky and uneven and I'd already had to replace the AAA batteries that came with it during the month I was using it. So...back it goes.

Bought this one after I bought the 5 button mouse version because the extra buttons didn't work with Mac OS. Mouse stopped working around the same time as the mouse for the 5 button version did.

I got it for very cheap from compusa and it was the best money ever spent. Very reliable and connects instantly - soon as I plug the USB dongle in. And the dongle is super small too. It is so quick to connect that I actively move the USB dongle between my various computers.

No complaints whatsoever.

I just got the item today first impression for the money that I paid looked "Okay". but now; wow I'm really impressed the keyboard is quite and really soft, nice to type in. The mouse its a little more louder in the clicking but I love this combo. definitively I'm ordering one more for my wife.
