The door of our Microwave broken - you couldn't get the door to open. I pulled the microwave out and found that Whirlpool used Torx Tamper screws on the cover - Torx screws with a little pin in the middle so that a normal Torx bit won't fit.

I ordered this set from Amazon, and was able to remove the cover from the microwave. I quickly found the problem, a small plastic tab broke, which was fixed with some epoxy.

I couldn't get the cover off without these bits, and they are not easy to find. Please keep in mind they use tamper proof screws for a reason - working around appliances can be dangerous to your health.

How much is a service call from your local appliance repairman? Even if I wasn't able to fix the broken piece, I easily found the part on line and it would be no problem to replace it.

Seems to work well, haven't stripped any of the bits yet, using for automotive and electronics projects, probably use the socket converters more than anything.

Already used the T30 bit a few times with no issues at all. The bit sizes are easy to read but do not use the same size socket. Most of the bits use the 1/4-inch socket. The largest 3 bits use the 3/8-inch socket. I would purchase again.
