first, let me say that these are not bad wrenches, but flawed design in a way. I have found that if you rub up against the side of the wrench by the reversible switch, then go to ratchet, the switch can flip from forward to reverse, or the other way around. It does not take much, just a hair of movement of that switch for it to happen. This tends to be more of a thing on the smaller wrenches then the larger sized ones. Also, the switch moves very easily. It is not bad that it moves easily, but there is not much to hold the lever in place that determines whether you are going to tighten or loosen. Just a slight bump can flip that switch. Again, this seems to be more of a problem with the smaller sized ones then the larger ones.

The quality of the wrenches is OK. They are not extremely cheap, but also no where near high end. I own some craftsman, blue point, and gear wrench brand reversible wrenches (all with the reversible switch and the angled boxed end) and I have found that the gearwrench brand ones are the cheapest by far. The stem or handle part is the thinnest of all 3, about half the size of the craftsman ones on the smaller sizes, has the easiest, but also the most accidentally prone flip levers, and has the cheapest feel to quality of the 3 brands. Because of the thinner handle design, that is partly why the problem of the flip lever being bumped is a problem on the smaller wrenches. If they would have simply made the handles, or stem between the ends, just a little bigger, then there would be no way to bump the lever from the side. It is because the lever hangs over the edge of the wrench by that hair that makes bumping the reversible lever from the side of the wrench a problem.

I love the reversible switch with out having to turn the wrench around but when tightening a nut the sharp rounded ends of the wrench can dig into your hand and fingers.

This Gearwrench set (like the others) performs well. The sizing of the open end wrench ends is reasonably accurate. The closed end fit well on the correspondingly sized bolts or nuts. This is not destined to be a "heavy duty" ratcheting wrench. It performs well with regular pressures on normal applications. I get the impression that if I tried to "force" a frozen nut or bolt, the ratcheting mechanism would be pushed to its limit and might fail. It performed well in all the normal situations where I utilized it and the ratcheting mechanism saved me a lot of time and trouble.

These are fine accurate precise tools. Not the cheapest, but once you get a good set of tools you realize that they are worth it. The ratchet mechanism is fine enough to be useful even when there is a very small arc of motion.

I ordered these SAE wrenched and for the price, GREAT! Turns out the barcodes all read SAE while in reality, the wrenches are metric. I need the SAE wrenches for work, but this metric set it still great for the price and I will use them on my car. I am still disappointed they are not the item I ordered.
