5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST RATCHETING WRENCHES EVER!!
I went over to a friends house to work on my truck, he had a newly built and stocked garage so he had all the cool tools I wish I had. While under the truck trying to get at a oddly positioned bolt I asked him for a 14mm wrench, he hands me this weird floppy thing. I ask him what the heck is this and he says just try it. I look at in the light of the trouble light...

3.0 out of 5 stars Difficult to change direction
Very well made tool but if I had to do it over again I would have bought the Craftsman because it has a lever to change direction. With the Gear Wrench you have to turn the tool over to change direction. This is very annoying when you have a blind nut, finally get the ratchet end of the wrench on the nut, and then you realize it is going the wrong direction so you have...

5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST RATCHETING WRENCHES EVER!!, November 8, 2007
This review is from: GearWrench 9900 7 Piece Flex-Head Combination Ratcheting Wrench Set Metric (Tools & Home Improvement)
I look at in the light of the trouble light stick my finger in the box end and turn it...OH, this looks cool. I put it on the bolt and it fits right on, the flexible head allowed me to move the wrench without banging up my knuckles and the ratcheting....well it was a beautiful thing. That bolt didn't have a chance. I used several more sizes of these wrenches and was so impressed I went straight down to Sears that day, after searching we found the GearWrench wrenches, but right next to them were the Craftsman. Now I think, oh, these have to be even better, their Craftsman. After playing with the Craftsman I was SEVERLY disappointed, the ratcheting was loose and clumsy. They just didn't 'click' like the GearWrench, and you had to move the wrench more to get one 'click'. The GearWrenches seem to be better designed and made and were cheaper. SOLD!! It was a no brainer. Now don't get me wrong, I love my Craftsman tools, and my GearWrenches sit in the drawer, right next to my other Craftsman wrenches, but when the job calls for a ratcheting wrench...I go for the GearWrenches. Buy these, you will never regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great tool, April 21, 2007

You won't go back to using your regular open end wrenches after using these. They are quality made, get into and work in very tight spaces, are very fast to use with the ratchet, only take 5 degrees of turn to reach the next ratchet catch point, the smooth finish helps keep them clean, their grip on nuts and bolts is superior to standard open end wrenches so you get less of a rounding affect, adapt to the angle you need and they are for a GREAT price from Amazon.

I'm so glad I made this purchase.

I bought these wrenches to work on my motorcycle - specifically to get to some tight spaces where regular socket wrenches wouldn't go. They work great! The quality of these wrenches is better than anything else out there. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone who does their own "wrenching".

The Gear Wrench Flexible Ratcheting Wrenches have became my primary wrenches of choise. They are strong, ratchet very easily and for hard to get to or tight areas they are priceless.

All doubts removed after using these flex-head wrenches just a few times. So comfortable to hand and the big bonus is fewer scrapped knuckles and rounded over bolt heads. For tight quarters work, these tools are heads above the others. Slim design gets into tight spots. Highly recommended.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good enough, for the price, September 11, 2011
This review is from: GearWrench 9900 7 Piece Flex-Head Combination Ratcheting Wrench Set Metric (Tools & Home Improvement)
I've used many of the Gearwrench and Craftsman. Both have the exact same degree of movement required to move a bolt. I prefer the flexing Craftsman because the heads stay tight, and have a setting to lock in place. Over time, many of the Gearwrench heads loosen, requiring frequent tightening of the tiny allen bolt. Craftsman also have a significantly longer handle, allowing more leverage.

Gearwrench is a little cheaper because they are made in Taiwan. The flexhead Craftsman are made in the US. So if you feel like saving a few bucks for a comparable but lesser product, while contributing to the bankruptcy of your country and putting Americans out of work, buy this set right up.

Very nice wrenches, but shame on Amazon and Gearwrench. I ordered these two months ago, and they still have not shipped. Price has been jacked up $9 since I ordered. Amazon sent me an email asking if I still wanted them. Heck yes, I'm not cancelling so Amazon can get out of shipping to me at the old price! But why is Amazon still taking orders for these when Gearwrench apparently never supplies them!!! Not up to the usual Amazon service standards. You get one star because of the lousy service Gearwrench.
