This is a really fun book to read or just browse.
The Shay locomotive had unusual power transmission methods when compared to the typical steam locomotive that we all see. It uses gears for the drive. This book explains that, some history and the reasoning behind the traction engineering. I've read it & re-read it several times. I think it is a great book & worth every penny! |
