Silva Screen once again releases something for you to "howl" about - "Geeks, Freaks and Shrieks!" - with the ghostly presence of Paul Bateman, Nic Raine, Michael Jones, Mark Ayres, Daniel Caine, The City of Prague Philharmonic and The Crouch End Festival Chorus all capable of battling demons of the night.
This fright-fest collection will have you looking over your shoulder, that is if you still have your head...standby for some highlights - "HALLOWEEN" the cult-classic from John Carpenter, who also directed and gave us one of his most popular and enduring themes..."THE EXORCIST" with "Tubular Bells", as we battle the demon Pazuzu with Mike Oldfield's extraordinary score..."PRINCE OF DARKNESS" another Carpenter film and score, percussion abounds with rhythmic and symphonic passages that are simply enthralling..."THE SHINING" a classic film as Jack Nicholson showed us just how really demented he could be - "Here's Johnny", with electronic score pulsating via Wendy Carlos...and the grand-daddy of them all "PSYCHO" the two giants Alfred Hitchcock and Bernard Herrmann changed the world of horror cinema forever, with music to shower by, taking a shower will never be the same.
And there you have it listeners, those of you who want to be scared to death will have their wish, as you pull the covers over your head...this album is forth-with dedicated to "film-score-buffs" all over the world, and the next!
Total Time: 45:13 on 12 Tracks...Silva Screen STD-5025...(2000)

This is the CD you want if you're looking for scary music that's performed exactly like it was in each movie. This music is some of the very best that's ever been in horror movies. My favorites are "Halloween" by John Carpenter, "The Exorcist" (which is "Tubular Bells") by Mike Oldfield, "A Nightmare on Elm Street" by Charles Bernstein, "The Fog" by John Carpenter, "The Shining" by Wendy Carlos & Rachel Elkind, and "Freddy's Nightmares" by Nicholas Pike. This CD is perfect if you want scary music for Halloween that people recognize. This is NOT what you're looking for if you want Halloween dance music.
