Format: Paperback
An inspirational read by ordinary, but really extraordinary, young college students motivated to use modern information technology with their education and experiences, to make an intrinsic difference in someone else's world beyond their own, but who as a result also grew and learned a great deal more about themselves. The compilation of the stories from the few of many young students mentored by Dr. Alex Hills (Capt America as described by one of the Geeks) is a joy to read and shows how technology and human hands can combine together to fulfill lives and dreams. If compiled by Capt. America, you know it is has to be good!

This is not just a book, it's a grand idea with global good. These stories show it's an idea that works wonderfully. The idea is technological optimism -- technology applied usefully, meaningfully, to improve the human condition. It's an idea that works for the young people making it happen and the locals who benefit in remote lands, often in trying circumstances. These amazing, inspiring, personal stories are partly or fully brought to being with the guiding wisdom and vision of Alex Hills. Read it and relish the hopefulness, helpfulness and higher purpose in each student's first hand experiences -- in their own words.

Format: Paperback
I loved this book. Five outstanding young information technology and engineering students experience the joy of helping others. They find their own lives immeasurably enriched by a summer spent sharing their skills with developing nations. For some it is a truly life-changing experience. In the words of the editor, Alex Hills, "This is a new breed of young professional. They are out to change the world". These students give me hope for the future.

This book is inspiring, and lifts up hopes for change in the world. The authors and the students' stories on their work make you appreciate everything such programs have to offer. I have always cared about doing good in the society, and it was this book that has convinced me that I can use my technology knowledge to bring change in this world.
