The product is as the title says: Analog to Digital Audo Adapter. When I bought this, the picture was wrong and really is a poor picture anyway since it never shows the output side, but when I posted this review, it seems the picture has been corrected. The device takes the red and white audio cables and outputs them as either coaxial or optical digital output. My biggest worry was the output. Much to my happienss, the output is either Optical or RCA style (what I believe is the coaxial, really just looks like another RCA type plug except black). I tested the optical output and it worked like a charm.

Also, the package came quick and was very neatly packaged. Much better than I was expecting. Very satisfied with this buy.

Received and installed item less than 10 minutes, most of the time was looking for my optical audio cable, worked well to connect my Wii system to my 3x1 router which linked to my stereo system, much easier to operate my home theater for people who are technically challenged, now my wife just has to select the dvd or Wii.

I bought a new sound bar for my 3 year old Sony tv. Unfortunately I didn't realize until I got it home that the sound bar only accepted digital input and my tv only had analog output. This device saved my bacon. It hooked up cleanly and functions great without any apparent loss of sound quality.

Like many others, bought this to connect an older Sony LCD with analog audio out to a sound bar with digital inputs. There is not much to say. It is easy to set up and sounds great. Very happy something existed to solve my dilemma and solve it well.

This was to convert my optical signal into an analog signal so that I may use my gaming headset. I was amazed at how well it was able to replicate the sounds from the game. If a noise was on the left side, I heard it on the left side. If the sound was transitioning from right to left, the converter was able to follow with precision. Setup took all of five minutes and it comes with an optical cable, wall plug and adapters to use no matter which country you're in. Works off of 110-220v power.

Never did get this to work. I have an iMac in good shape and tried to follow all the directions, but not luck.

I had originally purchased three cheaper ADCs (Kanex model HDMIACV) to hook up various analog-only pieces of equipment in my system. They worked alright, but all three had nasty background noise. I tried opening one up and added some filtering caps to the DC power input, but it didn't make a difference. The soldering on the board itself was some of the worst I have ever seen, it was definitely assembled by hand, by what looked like a blind 3rd grader with one of those "cold heat" guns. The flux hadn't even been cleaned off of the board.

Needless to say, they lasted about three weeks in my system before the noise was just too much. I purchased one of these Gefen units to see if it was any better before buying more, and it is dead silent and sounds great. The only downside is now I need to buy two more to replace the other crappy Kanex ADCs I'm stuck with.

I needed to convert my analog (RCA) output to digital to go into my new blue ray entertainment system that only had optical inputs.

Simply put.. this was perfect for the job. Works great and was packaged great as well.

4 stars only because of the price. Does exactly what I needed. Going from a Component A/V Switch to my Receiver, and both component sets of inputs are either fiber or Digital Coax. I have the Yamaha RX-V465. This box solved my problem.

i am residing in India. I was having my doubts whether without realising the technical details I have ordered the item as similar products available in India are not working. To my surprise it is working. IO am having Bose Home theater and though it is having an ipod connector, the sound output from my ipod is that much not good. It takes high volume to get the desired satisfaction. With this adopter the sound output is loud and clear even in low volumes.
