I use CamTwise Studio to produce a weekly HD video show at [...]. Problem is that the entire system is DVI/HDMI so if I want to bring the program video back in to the live Skype feed, well, I can't. With this box we can *finally* convert HDMI to composite or Y/C and actually utilize the video in a more traditional sense allowing me to sling the standard def version around the studio for previewing. It certainly steps on the quality, but that is to be expected when converting from HD to SD.

One minor gripe I have is that I can't seem to plug directly in to the Mac Pro via DVI to HDMI. The Mac Pro will see the unit as 'Scan Convert' but the output is always black. I have to first split the DVI signal in two, send 1/2 of it to an HDTV via a DVI to HDMI adapter and wait for the Mac Pro to detect the screen. Then I plug the other half in to this box and it will work perfectly. Not sure if it is a RGB to YUB color space issue or something else. Other than that, works exactly as advertised.
