GelaSkins Protective Kindle Skin (Fits 6" Display, 2nd Generation Kindle), Almond Branches in Bloom

I put this on my kindle when i first got it(i change it up every so often).But i have to say that the quality is first rate...it was easy to put on and take off...it doesn't really change the feel of it.. but personally the brushed metal on the back of the kindle feels kinda cold and generic..atleast, this way my kindle is unique to me...i love this pattern because it's a soft, subtle pretty and it goes really nice with my white leather protective sleeve by octo.

I received my skin before my Kindle arrived and I loved the design. I didn't read the reviews before I purchased and when I did was disappointed it would only cover the front but upon arrival I was happy to see that it indeed had a front & back skin. It was easy to put on & forgiving when I needed to reposition. I hope they will come out with other great designs to change it up every once and awhile

GelaSkins was very easy to apply to Kindle 2. Much easier and more forgiving compared to the screen protector. Only came across 2 small bubbles but it was easy to remove by lifting GelaSkin, smoothing spot with a microfiber cloth and reapplying. The GelaSkin can be easily removed and is backed by this new adhesive technology by 3M. Now my Kindle looks 'custom' and very pretty. I can spot it easily and not worry about dirt or stains when I am eating while reading my Kindle. I get many compliments and matches perfectly with the M-Edge Icon Crocodile-embossed Patent Leather Kindle Jacket in the color Azure by M-edge. I just love the entire look! :D

I love the artwork of this skin and the back piece was very easy to apply. Not so with the front. I found it VERY difficult to apply the main piece so that it was straight, and I found that repositioning it stretched the material somewhat so that it bunches up a little. I also thought that the small pieces for the buttons don't meet up with the edges of the larger piece, leaving very visible seams. It wasn't quite what I'd hoped for, but I do find that my Kindle doesn't feel so cold with the skin on and it feels a little softer as well. In any case, I would call this a middle-of-the-road product.

All Kindle skins are not created equal. I bought the skin found here: Stand Alone Design Protective Decal Skin Sticker for Amazon Kindle 2 E-Book Reader (Version 2.0) for my Kindle, it covers the front and back and I like it very much. I then purchased a Kindle for my mother and purchased the Almond branches skin for hers. I should have read the reviews. This skin costs $3.00 more that the first one I bought yet only covers the back of the Kindle. So, although the product is fine as far as the artwork and materials, I'm not impressed with the cost and the lack of a front piece.

Its a very pretty pattern don't get me wrong, but it was not very easy to put the front piece on and there wasn't a protection piece for the screen which was the main reason I bought it. I improvised with the plastic that came with the kindle since I had been using that and cut that to fit the area where the screen is located. Still that has tons of bubbles in it, but I hope at least this won't pick up the tons of black cat hairs from my cat that just the plastic film was doing. Still a little mad about this not having some sort of screen protection on it though. For the price, you'd think it would have it.

It's nice to look at (almost distracting) it may protect from scratches, nicks and stains, but I would not count on it to deflect dings, bangs and bumps. It does not protect the screen or keep anything out of the keys/buttons. Overall it is a good product just not a necessity. It serves the purpose and it is fun to change things up.

I's beautiful, very nice at touch and easy to put on the Kindle. Manufacturer has to work some more the actual size: it is slightly smaller than the Kindle so the empty spaces (for keyboard and speakers behind) do not exactly fit with the real thing. I had to put it twice in order to align it the best I could. Fortunately, it makes no problem removing it and putting on again and lets no glue or shreds or anything like that on the Kindle.

The Almond blossom skin that I bought for my Kindle is a very beautiful print and not terribly difficult to install, if done with care. It is basically nothing more than a custom cut piece of attractive contact paper. I had hoped it would have more thickness to provide a little cushion but that was my own misconception. I think it was the "Gelaskin" description that caused me to think it would have a little more substance to it. It is very attractive but priced a little high since it is just a piece of plastic.

I really enjoy reading on my Kindle. I take it everywhere I go, and I wanted to make it pretty. I looked at all the available styles of Gelaskins (there are many), and I decided that this style, called Almond Branches in Bloom, was perfect for me. It is very attractive, and it has been a great conversation starter.

The Gelaskin was very easy to apply and fit the Kindle perfectly.
