5.0 out of 5 stars easy to apply
After reading some of the reviews, I almost didn't get this. HOWEVER, I did and found that it was really simple to apply! I had absolutely no issues doing it at all. I didn't have to stretch it to get it to fit and I didn't get any bubbles. It even conforms to the contours at the power button without any gaps. The "sticky-ness" (It's not sticky, just has good...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not terrible
So it does literally what it states. But it is a little disappointing. It's a rubbery thin cover for the back of the kindle 2. It does not really get to the sides much and when putting it on you need to seriously stretch the material to get it laying flat around the headphone/power switch bump. Also if you are getting the Amazon leather cover for the Kindle 2 the...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not terrible, February 25, 2009
This review is from: GelaSkins Protective Kindle Skin (Fits 6" Display, 2nd Generation Kindle), Contortionist (Electronics)
So it does literally what it states. But it is a little disappointing. It's a rubbery thin cover for the back of the kindle 2. It does not really get to the sides much and when putting it on you need to seriously stretch the material to get it laying flat around the headphone/power switch bump. Also if you are getting the Amazon leather cover for the Kindle 2 the stickiness of the gell cover makes it a little tough to get the Kindle attached the first time.

It would definitely gain a star if it was $10 less.

I didn't have to stretch it to get it to fit and I didn't get any bubbles. It even conforms to the contours at the power button without any gaps. The "sticky-ness" (It's not sticky, just has good grippability) is perfect for hanging onto your kindle while reading. I do wish they had better images to choose from tho. The books are a little old fashioned, the contortionist a little boring and reminds me of a basketball court for some reason. I would love it if you could customize with a picture! Or if they had more to choose from. But, it works great, was easy to apply, and I think is worth the price. Skins for phones are similar prices.

3.0 out of 5 stars Gelskin for kindle, September 7, 2009
This review is from: GelaSkins Protective Kindle Skin (Fits 6" Display, 2nd Generation Kindle), Contortionist (Electronics)
The Gelskin lives up to its purpose however, Amazon.com doesn't live up to its reputation on many of the kindle products sold. This particular product is one sided and only covers the rear of the kindle. Inasmuch as I had already purchased the kindle amazon leather cover I thought the product would cover front and back. It does not. The most important part of the kindle is left unprotected. I didn't need the back covered - and would not have purchased this product had the description include information on "back of kindle covered only"

I bought this Gelaskin a couple of days ago. I have another Gelaskin on my Macbook Pro so I knew exactly what to expect. It is kind of like a sticker, though it is made out of special material made by 3M so that it is much stronger and you are able to remove it if you ever decide to get rid of it. I like the design, and I simply wanted a little something on the back to avoid scratches and not having to worry about setting it down on a dirty surface, etc. It was relatively easy to apply, and I am pleased. It delivers exactly what I thought it would.

Worthless, waste of money. What is needed is the gel cover for the screen, not the back.

4.0 out of 5 stars Skin Cover, March 31, 2009
This review is from: GelaSkins Protective Kindle Skin (Fits 6" Display, 2nd Generation Kindle), Contortionist (Electronics)
I purchased the Gelaskin cover because my hands get slippery when they are dry. I was afraid my Kindle might slip out of my hands. The Gelaskin is fun and does what it says it will do. It gives me good grip when I'm holding the Kindle as I'm reading. It also personalized my Kindle. Yep I would buy it again.

I love this protective skin. It provides great protection, is attractive, adds no weight to the lightweight kindle, and it makes it easier to hold.

1.0 out of 5 stars Major Disappointment!, October 23, 2009

I bought this for my husband's Kindle since we had success with protective screens for mine. Of course, I found out the hard way that this doesn't do that job after hours of attempts to separate the rubbery background from the front screen cut out. Since the sales writeup says it fits the 6" screen Kindle, I thought it actually fit the reading surface. There's $20 thrown away!!!!
