This does protect what it covers. However, the sides are left uncovered. So I just bought the invisible skin to cover what this one would not. The touch wheel still works fine. I toss my iPod in my bag w/ books keys and pencils and into my car's glove compartment and no damage has been caused.
Good product does what it says and beautiful artwork, only con is the entire iPod is not covered.

I really enjoy this product! I placed it easily on my Ipod classic and it doesn't peel off. It's smooth and sleek and the touch wheel still works beautifully with it on. Great buy! Would recommend to anyone who wants to spice up their Ipod!
