Product Description

L'Antica Drogheria jams and preserves are made in the mountains between Bologna and Florence by Maria Grazia La Porta. All of the jams are made from locally picked fruits and are produced in small batches. Maria Grazia concentrates the flavors by cooking them a touch longer. Without exception, they are intensely flavorful without being overly sweet.

The wild rose berries used to make this dark red spread are picked by hand. The resulting flavor is a cross between ripe berries and freshly pureed prunes. This versatile spread goes with everything from ice cream, to creamy cheeses, to marinades.

I grew in in the San Luis Valley of Colorado and northen New Mexico where this jam was once very common. As the older people have died out, this is very hard to find. This is amazing to find it.
