About the Author

Lisa Loomis writes because she loves to. Her stories are about the human condition: love, life, and everything in between (including sex, drugs, alcohol, and things just crazy enough to be true). Her stories are not predictable, conventional, or lacking in the messiness of life. She tries to extract the real emotion in any given situation in her characters, with a touch of humor. Lisa Loomis was born in Oakland California and raised in San Jose until she was a sophomore in high school. Her father then took a job in the San Diego area where he moved the family to Escondido, California (or hickville as she called it). She finished high school at San Pasqual High then went to junior college at Palomar JC, ultimately graduating from San Diego State University with a BS in Finance. Finding more BS than Finance with the financial meltdown in 2008 she went back to her passion of writing. Her currently published novels are BOY IN A BAND, CASANOVA COWBOY, and GEM RATS. She now lives and writes in Park City, Utah. Visit her at www.LisaLoomisBooks.com or www.MyForeclosureStory.com

I have been trying to read this book for over a month but I just can't get into it. The basic plot could be interesting but it moves too slow and there are a lot of characters to follow. It's not just that there are a lot of characters, but none of them are very interesting. I really don't care what is happening with them so it makes it impossible to finish the book. Don't waste your time with this book, there are too many good books to read.

I like stories with a plot, or at least a point. Even memoirs have a point to them. This book had neither. Okay, I get that we're following a group of women as they experience their mid-life crises of sorts. But where is the conflict? Where is the resolution? And why should I care about any of these characters? I kept wondering when it would "start" ; I was 93% through the book and realized it never would. But, of course, that also meant it wouldn't end.

All in all, it was a 4-hour reminder of how NOT to write a book.

I write most of my reviews on Goodreads; I don't often post a review on Amazon. I have to feel pretty strongly about a book to do so. And I would pass on this one.

Lisa never lets me down. There is a lot going on in this book. Seven VERY different women going through different stages of life's little drama's. Betrayals, mid life craziness and uncertainty pursues the friends . Very well written and entertaining. I would say it is one of my favorites but I have loved all of her books and they are all my favorites. :)

I think this book might have been written for a much younger generation than me. I lost track of the women, and the "hot" guys with all of the physical descriptions that were very uninteresting to me. Like I say, probably a younger generation would be more interested in the love lives of women with gym bodies, and buff men.
