** spoiler alert ** I attempted to write this review twice and I can't seem to organise my thoughts. It's basically a book about a menage a trois where two of the guys are twins.

I liked the present tense, first person point of view. It's raw as it's the book, but it brings some limitations. Sometimes it's like hearing a sports commentator and since the sex is frequent and naughty, instead of being inside the head and feelings of the narrator, you feel some sort of detachment, even if there's a lot of enthusiasm on the part of the narrator.

The major disappointment is that we can never truly understand what turned the twins relationship into a twincest. We get to know that when the twins' parents died, Paul had nightmares, that his brother Jamie took him in his bed, and then that things evolved, but in my opinion there's something in Paul - I don't know if there's something broken, or flawed, or hurt, or scarred, but the boy seems so needy sometimes that it breaks your heart.

On the other hand, I don't know if Paul is so blindly strong that he is the one that keeps his brother Jamie tied to him and then brings Gent into their home. There's really an interesting dynamic between the three, but I think it was somehow neglected for the sex. Then there's the tidbit of information about the third person before Gent that was totally forgotten. I think it was important.

The story doesn't really flow, it reads like a sequence of sketches: the alley, the kitchen, the bedroom, the living room, the bar, the spanking, the fisting, etc. I would have liked more telling, because there were some very sweet moments here and there.

I'm trying not to judge the book by the twins relationship, because I admit it freaked me out a bit and I tried to forget they were twins (and that's probably the wrong way of reading this book, I'm sorry), but I was able to finish it, that's why I recognise there was something compelling in it. Maybe sometimes we are truly fascinated by taboos.

Gemini Gent is a tattoo artist who is immediately attracted to customer Paul, when Gent goes home with Paul after a date, he meets Paul's twin Jamie and soon discovers the mutual attraction extends to both men. When you look at the underlining plot, you will see a story of three men bonded in an unique relationship that provides the emotional needs of each man, the key being the sense of equally belonging to each other, which makes the love scenes all the more sensuous, the story is more than just sex, it also illustrates love. This is a fantastic romance that I enjoyed reading.

I've been waiting for Chris Owen's Gemini to become available in print for way too long and now that it's here... Overjoyed. I'm not a huge fan of books written in 1st person so when I come across one that is as well written as Gemini I rave about them.

Gemini is not a book for everyone -- the subject matter is in many ways very controversial (and I am not speaking of the gay issue). However, Chris Owens handles it with his typical gifted flare. I rooted for the characters involved and my heart went out to them ONLY because of the emotionally charged way their story was presented. If read with an open mind, anyone reading this book will see beyond the social taboos and embrace the story for what it is -- a beautiful love story between consenting adults, a romantic adventure full of heart with characters who deserve an HEA. If only we all could be so lucky....

If you like reading about sex constantly, this book is for you. Not much of a plot but easy reading.

Gent is a tatoo artist that gets picked up one night by Paul, a somewhat preppy City Hall worker. He soon discovers that to be with Paul he has to accept Jamie, Pauls twin brother, into their relationship too.
I have to say that I was very disapointed in this book because I know this author is capable of so much more. Her usual style of humor and strong emotion was totally absent in this book. It was also a very short read with a flat ending. And I didn't like the brothers and the detailed sex sences between them. Owens did a great job in 911 with the three person relationship. But in this book I just kept thinking ewww. So, for future books Owens, three way GREAT...incest Bad!
