This review is from: Gemini TT-1100USB Belt Drive Turntable With USB (Electronics)
At first I thought they shipped this table without a belt, maybe I was influenced by the previous reviewerBut the belt is there wrapped around the bottom of the platter. All you have to do is line the square hole in the platter over the pulley and stretch the belt over the pulley You might have to use something like the tip of a knife to get between the belt and the platter, be careful. Just read the instructions first and you should be OK. My bad. Now that I got it running everything seems to work and it sounds good too. You also can upgrade the cartridge if you like or get a 78 cartridge as well. I haven't got a chance to transfer any tracts to the pc yet but so far it works great as a stand alone turntable. High recommend.

Don't waste your money!,

This product is a piece of crap. The audio quality is terrible, there are little to no directions, and the free audacity software they include does not handle the audio coming in correctly. All I got was a bunch of distortion. I am going to return it and get a Sony instead. Don't waste your time and money on this.

So-so hardware, bogus software,
This review is from: Gemini TT-1100USB Belt Drive Turntable With USB (Electronics)
Putting the deck together is easy enough, though adjusting the tracking weight is not easy. The "guide" for setting the values is lousy. The deck has a tendency to skip grooves even on records that have not skipped on other decks. But I do want to rant about the software. You get a copy of Audacity, which is free at Sourceforge and is not, repeat NOT, software for recording and copying album tracks. Audacity is intended for multi-track recording, as might be used by a musician laying down vocal and instrumental tracks. To record, split, and clean up tracks from a vinyl album you need software like Steinberg's "Clean", which you don't get here. The price difference between this deck and the non-USB version is just down to the USB. The software is officially worthless.
