I am a gemstone therapist. I've found the information in this book to really work for me. It clearly states how gemstones work, easy ways to use them, and other useful information.

Find that you're incredibly attracted to amethysts and don't know why? Do you put your hands over crystals because it "kinda feels nice"? Do rubies in a store window cause you to stare until your mate has to haul you away?? The Gemisphere Luminary is a must-have for you, and may give you some surprising answers about your attractions. Whether or not your world view is in line with the more esoteric information in the book (i.e.: Gemstone Guardians), the basic gemstone information is detailed, precise and extremely useful. I have worked with crystals and gemstones for many years, and I found this book to be completely in line with my experience. Mr. Katz stresses the quality of stones, which I've also found to be extremely important, and something I think many people don't appreciate. (Chances are good that if you drop by your local rock shop, what you will find there will not be of sufficient quality to have anything like the effects various books describe, generally leading people to think that it's all bunk. That's unfortunate, as good quality stones can be wonderful tools.) If you work with crystals and stones, or just have an attraction to them, this book is an excellent resource and will give you much food for thought.

The Guardians of each gemstone were fascinating beings, each with a mission and purpose for their particular gemstone. Each guardian shares their history of the gemstone and educates us. This book gives us valuable information to use for gemstone healings. If you have ever felt an affinity for a particular gemstone and wondered what it's mission is on the planet, you should get this book and read it. It's a lovely, sweet book, full of incredible information.

We found this book to be a highly informative presentation of the therapeutic value of gemstone energy. It also aided our understanding of how, why, and what kinds of crystals assist us in achieving a higher state of being. The overview of the subtle bodies is very useful in revealing our potential for clarifying thought and emotional processes that contribute to physical well-being. We have since purchased therapeutic gemstones and applied gemstone therapy on ourselves and others and have experienced first hand a unique and beneficial influence associated with energy medicine in this form. From a planetary perspective, it is gratifying to be presented with knowledge of the mineral kingdom and the life supporting energy conduits that are embodied within the earth much like the veins and arteries that run through our own bodies. When in their natural form, crystalline gemstones perform a myriad of functions within the earth's body. When mined and fashioned into therapeutic spheres, the same life force integrates with our energies and enhances health in spirit, mind and body. The book is easy to read, informative, entertaining and insightful. We have recommended this book to family, friends, and clients of our wholistic healing practice, and will continue to do so.

Before reading the Luminary, I didn't feel a great attraction to using gems for anything more than jewelry. Though I did accept the possibility of out-of-body 'real' experiences, I didn't see how that could credibly translate into developing a form of energy medicine! But upon reading this book, I developed a great respect, not only for the healing power of gemstones, but for Energy Medicine in general.

Still a skeptic, I am repeatadly amazed at the actual, real-life stories I hear of people experiencing transformation and healing using therapuetuc quality gems -- it looks like this stuff isn't just new-age hocus-pocus after all!

I hope you give the book a read - even you skeptics out there! If for no other reason than for it's sheer eloquence.

Simply put, Michael Katz' book LUMINARY, is the definitive book on the subject of therapeutic gemstones.

The book documents a series of spiritual experiences that the author and his wife shared together. Michael Katz outlines his experience with the Gemstone Guardians, a group of spiritual beings responsible for the preservation of the gemstones on our planet. During these spiritual discourses Michael is made aware of the healing properties of gemstones for us as individuals and our planet.

One of the most splendid aspects of the book is the enlightening spiritual discourse that accompanies the explanation of each gemstone. This alone makes the book a worthwhile purchase.

In my opinion this is an extraordinary book with much to share about the healing properties of therapeutic gems.

Michael Katz' Gemishphere Luminary is, without a doubt, the most captivating and illuminating book on therapeutic gemstones ever written. I have owned my copy for over five years now, and I find myself returning to it over and over again to obtain information on the variety of gemstones he introduces in the book. In one sense, the Luminary serves as your portal to the inner realm of the Gemstone Guardians, whose wise counsel and enlarged perspective on our growth as spiritual beings provide hope and inspiration. Along a more practical vein, the Luminary describes the exact mission and specific uses of over 30 different gemstones and earthstones. All in all, the Luminary is an indispensible resource for those who seek to heal themselves from within.

I attended a workshop by Michael Katz before I read the book. I learned why I felt drawn to certain stones and also learned valuable therapies to use for myself and others. The book is a wonderful story and unique reference on the properties of gemstones.

How can I put this in words? OK you have a seed, You decide to grow it in the best posible conditions so that it will grow strong and healthy. So you water it with clean water, you ad vitamins and sun light is nurturing it with love and light. The same goes with our being. Gemstones provide the support we need to heal and grow in the best posible way. This book will show you why. Be ready to feel excited about the greatist book on energy healing and gemstone therapy.

Years ago, I had read a (favorable) review of Gemisphere Luminary in the New York Times, with a reaction of dismissal: "oh no, more opportunistic New Age marketing". I forgot the instance, then saw and opened up the Luminary in a local bookshop. Inside the cover was a quote from Larry King, in thanks for this "remarkable study". This introduction to the purpose and use of therapeutic gem and earth stones is useful for both layperson and practitioner, and not to be ignored. As someone who, prior, regarded stones as paperweights, I have gone on to use quartz strands to stop night cramps in my legs and other handy first aid measures. Nice to know that they're good for more than powering timepieces...
