About the Author

Marcus A. Greaves, B.S., N.M.D., began his career as an allopathic doctor. After practicing for many years in allopathic medicine, he chose alternative medicine and became a holistic practitioner. Dr. Greaves graduated from medical school in France in 1968. He practiced in Paris and other cities in France as well as in the USA; in Niger, Africa; and in St. Vincent in the Caribbean. From his very early days, Dr. Greaves always reiterated to his parents that he wanted to become a doctor like Jesus. He always had the desire and quest for perfect healing through spiritual methods. This book is not about using gemstones for healing even though that is the 1st impression that most people get from the title. Gemmae is the French word for bud. In this type of therapy the young shoots and/or buds of trees and shrubs are picked in the springtime and macerated in a glycerin and alcohol solution. After about one month the mother tincture is prepared as a 1x dilution. It is more akin to an herbal rather than a homeopathic remedy, having more of a biochemical effect on the body. The remedy is then given to the patient to facilitate drainage of the primary emunctories of the body, i.e. Lungs, Liver and Kidneys. This therapy is very effective for Americans who carry a large burden of toxins around with them and whose energy is depleted by too much stress and overwork. It's a fascinating and well written book, Thank you Dr.Greaves for sharing this very important information with us! T. R. Sartori, C.A.

Greaves did an outstanding job with this book. I refer to it often. It is a shame he is retired as a sequel would be marvoulous!!!!!!!!!! This is a must read for those that want to know more about Gemmotherapy and Oligotherapy!

I knew nothing about Gemmotherapy before reading this book. Now I understand the embryonic state of the plant is used in most cases, and this is where the strength and power is. I think of it as the "stem cells" of plants--the baby buds that pack all the power for healing. The book is a "how to" for Gemmo and Oligo therapies. I believe this is the future of alternative medicine. Thanks to Dr. Greaves for his years of study and dedication to bring this to main stream. I also would like to thank him for my renewing health and vitality. I feel great! Thank you!
