We used Pete as a prop during our Children's Church program and the kids loved it.

Pete The Repeat Parrot is is a wonderful toy. I first bought one for my children 20 years ago and we still have it. Now that I am a grandmother, I wanted one for my grandbaby, who is learning to talk. Pete's colors are vibrant. As he repeats everything you say to him,I find it a great teaching tool for language. My only suggestions would be that 20 years ago Pete was on a perch/pedestal, which made him easier to store than on the perch/hanger he has now, and the older version had a record button so that you could store and playback words/sentences. Overall, I think Pete The Repeat Parrot is a must have for any child. Adults have a blast with Pete too. Thanks to Amazon I was able to purchase Pete The Repeat Parrot. I called around to all the toy and super stores and no one had Pete. Thanks Amazon and to the makers of Pete The Repeat Parrot for supplying my children and now my grandbaby with unlimited hours of enjoyment and learning.

My 5 year old grand daughter loves to hear what she says repeated back to her and loved playing with my father's parrot! However, my father's talking parrot (looks identical to this one) you can say much longer phrases or sing a short song and it will repeat the whole thing. I was disappointed that the one I purchased only repeats back after saying a few words. I wish I would have known this before I bought it.

I am using Pete to encourage an elderly COPD patient to breath deeply and speak loud enough for Pete to be able to repeat what she has says. This improves lung function and is easier to get her to do than blowing in a tube. The ensuing laughter is THE best lung that exercize she could do.
I gave one to a friend who has an autistic son that is, virtually, non verbally communicative, but he's starting to interact with Pete.
Bob DeMarcos, the owner of The Alzheimers Room blog site, uses it with his mother, to help keep her engaged and present, as well as numerous other readers of his blog who have picked up on Pete's many talents.
I'm sure these uses were no intended, but, sometimes it's amazing what comes from the most unexpected things.

We gave this toy to our daughter for her first birthday. All the kids loved it and wanted to play with it. I have used it with her to teach vocabulary words. She won't always say a word after I say it but when the bird does she will try it.

This toy is great entertainment for the little ones. I liked it better than the Pirate Parrot and so did the kids. Even the adults enjoy it!!!

Read about using Pete the Repeat Parrot on alzheimersreadingroom.com in article by Bob DeMarco. Pete has proved to delight my client with alzheimer's also. She knows it's a toy, but is delighted with it because what it does is so amazing to her. She knows on sight that it does something special, but I need to then turn it on and hold it near to her (6 inches of her face) so it will repond to her talking to it. We've had a hundred laughs from using it in just the few days we've owned it.

There was a small problem with the parrot and it had to be sent back but the Customer Service Rep, Brian, made everything so easy! It was a pleasure doing business with this company.

Thanks for everything.

What can I say?
You say something to Pete and he says it back to you.
Now, I'm sure you're wondering how this is anything like my supervisor?
His response for just about everything is "Run a report".
"Hey boss, the numbers are off".
"Run a report"
"Hey boss, I'm going to lunch"
"Run a report"
Get the picture?

I do like Pete better though, when you're done you can just throw him in a drawer and ignore him.
Or if Peter REALLY starts to get on your nerves you can yank the batteries out of him.
My boss won't fit in a drawer and I have yet to find out where his battery compartment is.
It would be nice if he had an "Off" switch somewhere but I can't find that either.
:(
At least Pete is fun, cheap and easily ignored when he gets annoying.
In that regard he reminds me more of my ex than my boss but we won't go there....
