THIS is the book I've been looking for!,
By
This review is from: Gemstone Healing Guide, A Healing Apothecary (Paperback)
I recently started collecting crystals, and now have accrued 17 books on them. I keep ordering them off Amazon (sight unseen) and have been disappointed in most of them. I use Melody's faithfully, but I have been looking for one that had listings. For different things, and which crystals to use for them. She has 3 sections, one for physical problems, one for emotional uses, and one for higher self, and under each one is listed various things with the crystals used for each thing. You don't have to read through a lot of garbage to find which crystals are used, and that is EXACTLY what I've been looking for! (This is not a picture book. The space is used for information. It is beautifully laid out and easy to read (even for aging eyes).)
She also has a great, concise section on the chakras, on cleaning and storing crystals, and on the dangers of certain crystals in elixirs (a listing) as well as which ones shouldn't be handled due to toxicity. I am going to buy several more, so that I will have one wherever I need it. I wanted to catalog information because I couldn't find it anywhere in a book, and now I don't have to! Kristi did it for me! Thank you so much, Kristi! This book is a gift and a blessing!

Extremely well organised,

This review is from: Gemstone Healing Guide, A Healing Apothecary (Paperback)
This book offers a compendium of minerals that is broken down into categories within larger groupings of physical, emotional, and spiritual associations. The stones are listed under headings, much like Judy Hall's Crystal Prescriptions, only with greater organisation. Additionally are some great essays included as appendices to the main body of the work. Kristi is fabulous ar what she does, and this book is a handy reference. It lends itself well to new students and old pros, and it can be used in the construction of grids, elixirs, amulets, talismans, layouts for the body, and any other application.
Enjoy this one!

An Excellent resource.,
This review is from: Gemstone Healing Guide, A Healing Apothecary (Paperback)
Kristi Huggins is truly a gifted soul. This book is a quick reference guide matching various symptoms/issues/emotions with gemstones that have related metaphysical properties.
Since it appears as though this book is no longer available through Amazon, you can find it on Kristi's site, Moon Cave Crystals.

I have the first edition of this book and it is a favorite of mine, well used! When I heard that a second edition was coming I was excited to see what was new. I was not disappointed! The cross reference sections are great! Whether you have the first edition, or if this is your first introduction to crystals and Kristi Huggins, get this book and you won't be disappointed!

A handy guide,

Found this reference guide to be a quick, easy to use manual when seeking to add an appropriate crystal frequency for a particular purpose - whether physical health, spiritual awakening, or peace and prosperity. Extensive, but light in weight, on more than one occasion this manual was an ideal traveling companion when working with crystal energies.

I have many books on gems and crystals, and this is the most useful, and it has become my favorite. The other reviews give you lots of details, but if you want a practical, easy to use book, this is it.

This is basically a reference book that is great for looking up a symptom or trait that one wants to work on whether physical, emotional, or spiritual. No photos so the reader would have to know what their gemstones looked like. Brief overview of chakras, and cleansing and properly storing your collection. Different authors vary on what stones are used for what (interesting), but overall, a thin but handy little reference book for your library.

Supplemental, not primary,
This review is from: The Gemstone Healing Guide, A Healing Apothecary (Paperback)
I read the reviews before purchasing, and there are valid complaints. This book is not a primary source. It's a group of lists split up by categories. Therefore, if you want to know why a stone is on the list, or to distinguish other qualities to narrow down a choice, you will need a different resource such as Judy Hall's books or Melody's. But one thing I've found challenging is looking things up in the index of other books and having to go to pages and create my own list. This book takes that step out and expands on the lists to allow more detail. I recommend this book if you are serious about healing and want a reference to help you narrow down your choices based on categories including mind, body, and spirit/soul. I wish it had more elaboration, but that remains for yet another author in the future.

Short but easy to locate both the need and the stone. A good supplementary book to healing with stones.
