Gen X is a humorous, fun paced debut novel by Tisha. I was easily lost in Gen's life from the first chapter. Her personality intrigued me and was drawn to her sense of humor. The only thing that annoyed me about her was she always had a cigarette in her hand and couldn't go a day without coffee. Eh I guess because I don't smoke and hate coffee, I didn't understand. *Shrugs* But, Tisha's writing style gave me a chance to get to know all the character's and grew to love most but loathe some. I really disliked her best friend Jared's agent Leila, one word to describe her rhymes with witch. I found myself rolling my eyes when I read her parts in the book, if she was real I'd seriously punch her in the face :) I don't want to give too much away since the story is captivating and I don't want to spoil any of the surprises! But, I must say I enjoyed taking an emotional roller coaster with Gen. There were times where I was really sad for her, but by the end of the book I said "awwwww" out loud. I have a feeling that their might be a second book because I'd love to see Gen's life take off in another place in her life. However, just to warn my young readers their is cursing and sexuality in this book. I do recommend it to those that are looking for a fun, emotional read that makes you giggle out loud but, also pout from sadness. My only negative thing would have to be that it wasn't longer! Go buy it, it's definitely worth it...
