This review is from: GenTran 14302 30 Amp Aluminum Power Inlet Box for up to 7,500-Watt Generators (Lawn & Patio)
It is what it is. I had no problems installing it. It would have been great if the item came with a door already attached, but you can always buy it if you think you need it. The door option is a little pricey. Or you can just put tape over the connector to keep out the wasps and spiders and such. This unit sits behind some bushes, but if it were out in the open, I would probably paint the thing to have it blend in with the house. It is big, but it has to be to have enough room for the large guage wires to be connected.

Because of the design of this product, it is very suitable for for extreme weather conditions. The size of the box is kept minimal, so it can be installed just about anywhere you chose. After it is wired to your to your transfer switch, all you need is the cord to connect your house (via the inlet box) to your generator. The cost for this product was fairly priced. If you have ever lost your electrical service and can't plug your portable generator directly to your transfer switch box, then I would recommend this product to get you connected to your transfer switch box and portable generator.

As an electrician, their really is nothing glamorous about these things. The only thing left to say is that the box hooked up and works.Be careful of the knockouts, they are flimsy.

Item came with screw missing. There is no cover for the outlet. Information that comes in box says you could order accessories like a cover for the outlet. It should come with an outlet cover.

Nothing fancy here it does what it is designed for. The one I received is missing a screw which supports the main connection. That is pretty poor quality control for just a box with a few parts.

This past fall I found myself with an under-used generator so decided to install it as a home backup. Bought this inlet box, transfer switch and cables on Amazon. Then on Dec. 11 we had the big New England ice storm and I was on the generator for six days! Felt very lucky to have it, and it worked fine.
