Gene Kloss Etchings is a superbly presented and memorable collection of impressive black-and-white art pieces by Taos, New Mexico-based artist Gene Kloss showcasing the spirit of the southwest, -- especially its Native American cultural traditions. Moving images enhanced with brief yet thoughtful commentary by the artist's poet husband Phillips Kloss fill this pages of this spellbinding and enthusiastically recommended artbook from cover to cover.

I discovered Gene Kloss' etchings while in the Santa Fe/ Taos area this summer. Her etchings of Western landscapes and Native Americans are so fine I would have no difficulty comparing them to Rembrandt's prints. Plus, some are still affordable. A two volume hard back limited edition (1000) raisonne' of Kloss' complete etchings has recently been compiled and published by A. Eugene Sanchez @ $198.00. It can be purchased through the Harwood Museum, Taos or The New Mexico Art Museum, Santa Fe. If you're at all interested, now is time to grab a copy. So, this Amazon book is now the second and older source about Gene and her fabulous prints.
