Power wash your deck, driveway, patio furniture and more with this powerful pressure washer from Generac. Long been known for their quality engines, this model is no exception, equipped with a powerful 196cc Generac OHV engine. Also included are three Quick-Click nozzle tips (0-degree Blast, 25-degree Clean, Soap), and a 25 foot hose. Generac's power washers are carefully engineered for longevity and ease of use, with well thought-out features not found on competitive models. Easy to maneuver, the welded frame is designed for durability, with a built-in step for easy starting and an integrated gun holster. The easily accessible high-performance axial cam pump provides maximum heat dissipation for extended life and the easy to pull trigger reduces fatigue. The pump is located well above the ground, eliminating the need to kneel down to make hose connections. Backed with a 2 year limited warranty. Founded in 1959, Generac has earned a reputation as the company home and business owners turn to when the power goes out. The first to engineer affordable home standby generators, along with the first engine developed specifically for the rigors of generator use, Generac now sells more home standby generators than all of our competitors combined. We have brought this same level of commitment and quality to our pressure washer products. Our customer research has led us to engineer our pressure washers from the ground up, to meet your specific demands. Generac manufactures the widest range of power products in the marketplace including portable, RV, residential, commercial and industrial generators. Generac also operates three large factories which employs thousands of workers in the American Midwest.

Generac 6020
The Generac 6020 power washer.

It's powered by a Generac overhead valve (OHV) horizontal-shaft engine, which makes the pump more accessible by positioning it well above the ground so you don't have to kneel down to make hose connections. Additionally, Generac OHV engines come standard with low-oil shutdown to protect and prolong the life of the engine. Both the engine and pump are perfectly balanced over the axle and wheels for almost effortless maneuverability, regardless of terrain.

It comes with an ergonomic spray gun, which features a unique cushion grip that reduces fatigue by minimizing vibration. The innovative easy-to-pull spray trigger can be held with a minimum of effort, and the Quick-Click nozzle tips are easy to replace.

This power washer is backed by a two-year limited warranty.

Note for California residents: This model is not CARB-compliant. Units sold to California must be CARB-compliant.

What Is PSI and GPM?

Short for "pounds per square inch," PSI is a measure of the water pressure coming out of the power washer. A typical garden hose dispenses water at about 30-40 PSI, and a coin-operated car wash provides about 700 PSI. A power washer, by contrast, typically dispenses water at several thousand PSI. Another important factor in power washers is GPM, which stands for "gallons per minute" and describes how much water is flowing through the pressure washer.

Together, they provide your power washer's cleaning power. Multiply PSI (which gives you the power to lift dirt and grime) by GPM (which provides the necessary quantity of water to wash it away) to get the cleaning power rating. The higher the number, the greater the cleaning power.

Here are some application examples with how much cleaning power (PSI and GPM) you'll need to get the job done.

Last year I borrowed a friend's electric power washer, mostly to clean my long driveway. It took hours. The gas powered Generac was much more powerful and the work this year went very quickly. I chose this model based on value and customer reviews. Other reviewers can give you more details on why it works so well.

My purpose in writing this review is because of the Customer Service. The Generac hose got a hole in it while I was cleaning my lanai. The hole was probably my fault, because I noticed it had been touching the hot engine for a while as I was cleaning with it. I phoned Generac directly, and they shipped a new hose for free- no questions asked! Because of this, I highly recommend products from this company.

Update (October, 2012)- the hose sprung a leak again (when I was pulling on it), and again they replaced it for free! Amazing service!

After first receiving a used machine that clearly had gasoline and oil inside, Amazon luckily resolved the problem and shipped a new machine. However, we have had issues with the wand and most recently Generac will not cover a machine defect with the spark plug. It seems the hole for the spark plug was not manufactured correctly. We sent photos to Generac and were told to take it to a local dealer to have inspected to see if it were a warranty claim. The dealer told us that it would not be covered by Generac and they could fix it for $189. I will not purchase another Generac product again! This is ridiculous! I purchased this power washer in April 2012 and it is now December 2012. Not covered under warranty! Seriously? What a waste of time and money. So disappointed.

I bought a piece of Generac equipment last June. It worked great for the first few months. Unfortunately, the following April one of the components failed. I took the piece of equipment to an authorized repair shop around April 15th for warranty repair work.

It is May 23rd and they still have not repaired my equipment. When I call GENERAC customer service they refuse to help me because I cannot give them a repair order number. When I call the repair shop they claim GENERAC has not assigned a order number even though they've completed the paperwork and sent it in.

I emailed GENERAC detailing when I dropped off the equipment, and noted that I was having trouble getting my item repaired in a timely manner. GENERAC never responded.

I'm very disappointed in their complete failure to stand by their products and repair them in a timely manner.

I purchased one of these as a Christmas present for my husband. He didn't need to use it until the around the first week in May. When he opened the box, the plastic handle assembly was snapped in two. He called the Generac Customer Service Dept. They were very nice on the phone and told him they would replace the handle at no charge. They said it would be shipped to him in around 20 business days. When the part did not arrive as promised, he called the company again and was told the part was back ordered and he would be contacted when it was shipped. When he didn't hear from them in a couple weeks, he called yet again. This time no one knew anything about it. This customer service rep said that he would have to contact someone for clarification and that he would email my husband within 24 hrs. Another few days go by; no news. So he calls again. This time, he is PROMISED that the part would be shipped the very next day expedited shipping. That was over two weeks ago and he is stilled waiting for it. He contacted them at the beginning of May; it is now almost August. No handle yet. I can't tell you how good this product is, since he has never gotten to use it. My advice is not to deal with this company. The handle being broken when it arrived would indicate poor quality to me. Plus the company doesn't really care about the customers. So, I guess we are stuck with a pressure washer we can't use. I suppose we could try to order the part and pay for it, but that doesn't seem fair. My advice is to buy a different brand pressure washer. Hopefully, you'll get a better product and better service!

I am starting off by giving this product a 5 star rating simply due to the fact that I took advantage of my "Prime" membership with Amazon.com and had it shipped "next day" for $3.99 I love doing that with large items such as this. I guess I get perverted pleasure by wondering how much it would have cost to have something this large and heavy shipped FedEx. Just call me crazy.
I ordered it on Tuesday and it arrived on Wednesday just like the system is supposed to work. The package did require an adult signature. Fortunately there was someone at home to sign for it.

After unboxing all of the small items first and removing the packing cardboard I was able to sort of roll it out of the box instead of having to lift it out. The instructions say to cut the corners of the box but since I am a man I don't need instructions... right?

But really it is nearly completely assembled in so much as the wheels are attached and ready to roll. All I did was tilt the box gradually while lifting up on the handle which was already 50% together. Tilt and roll seemed easier than cutting away the corners of the heavy duty shipping container.

All of the parts were accounted for. The Generac model that I ordered did not come with a washing fluid (soap) reservoir. May be the next higher model does. I didn't care. The manual has instructions (if applicable) showing how to insert the siphon tube into the tank.

After reading some of the other reviews on this product I have noticed the possibility of the high pressure hose to come into contact with the extremely hot muffler shroud. One simple solution (in theory) for me will be to use a couple of zip ties (aka cable ties) to secure the high pressure hose to the upper part of the handle.
