Product Description

Amazon.com Review

Prep for paint. Clear the driveway. Scrub the deck. Clean the gutters. Wash the car. If you have a lot of heavy-duty cleaning chores to tackle, the Generac 2.2 gpm pressure washer may be your answer. A fuel-efficient 5.0-horsepower Honda engine and high-pressure pump deliver 2,400 psi of pressure at 2.2 gpm. That's more than enough power to remove the toughest stains, mold, mildew, grease, salt, paint, and grime from all kinds of surfaces. Four quick-connect spray tips let you regulate the water flow and amount of pressure applied, while a chemical injection system dramatically increases cleaning effectiveness versus comparable models. Ten-inch pneumatic tires make this unit easy to maneuver around a work area, even over tough terrain, and a prostyle stainless-steel wand provides superior comfort and control. --Carl Thress

Product Description

This pressure washer from Generac features a 5-horsepower Honda OHV GC 160 engine that generates 2,400 psi at 2 gpm. The turbo nozzle spins a narrow jet of water in a circular motion that increases the sprayer's cleaning effectiveness. The extra-large muffler keeps noise to a minimum. This system also includes a chemical injection system and four quick-connect spray tips--three high pressure (0, 15, and 40 degrees) and one low pressure. The burly 10-inch wheels make the unit easy to maneuver over uneven terrain. A pro-style stainless-steel gun and wand round out the package.

Great Unit at the Best Price Around.
I bought the unit to clean things around the house including yard equipment. It works even better than I expected. The manuals startup instruction sheet has you up and running in about 15 minutes. Everything that you need to put the unit in operation is included. The washer tips and especially the turbo washer make this unit superior to the other units that I have rented in the past. The Honda motor is quiet and cranks on the first pull each time, just remember to hold the trigger in to release the water pressure when you pull the cord. Amazon.com has the best price around- its about $75 more everywhere else. I wanted to mention that unforunately I had minor (cosmetic) shipping damage-a cover on the muffler was bent up pretty bad, I called the Amazon help line and a nice Lady named Beth found the part that I needed and had it on the way that day. The Amazon.com staff does a great job and makes purchasing products a pleasure. I would highly recommend this unit to any homeowner. Thanks Amazon!

5.0 out of 5 stars Top-Notch Pressure Washer, June 9, 2001

This review is from: Generac Portable Products 1450-0 2400 PSI at 2.2 GPM Pressure Washer (Lawn & Patio)
I borrowed a friend's Generac pressure washer and was pleased with its performance. I decided I couldn't live without my own and it has quickly become my favorite tool. The quick-change nozzles are a dramatic improvement over the adjustable nozzle and the reliability of the Honda engine should ensure many years of use.

Let say first that the pressure washer was easy to assemble, oil, and begin using. It is small enough to move around easily and has more than enough power.

And that leads to my problems with this unit. I used it one weekend with excellent results. The next weekend I had it up and running for an hour when the pump head blew off the unit while I was spraying. I found parts 25 yards away. I have a brother who works in the small engine field and I ask him about it and showed him the pump head. He asked if the unit had a Honda engine and when I said yes, he said there is the problem. Honda engines are not run for initial break in before they are mated with the pump. Once the engine is run a couple of hours, it develops higher RPMs and greater pressure. He has replaced more than a few pump heads, and even replaced more than one on the same pressure washer. He has also called the manufacturer and reported the problem.
